The Pokémon League is the official association of Pokémon triners. If you defeat Brock, he'll induct you into the league and gie you a Boulder Badge and TM 34 as a rewards. The badge will give your Pokémon a small power boost, while the Technical Machine can be used to teach certtain Pokémon the Bide technique. Charmander's Fire-type powers won't make a dent in Brock's two Rock-type Pokémon. If you don't have Squirtle or Bulbasaur, you'll be in for a long battle.
