Moments before landfall on the Mississippi Gulf Coast
About to make Landfall

Georges "stalled" after making landfall, and zig-zagged
back-and-forth along the coastline for 5 hours before
finally moving inland...only to return several hours later.

The track of Georges from 4am on the 27th to 4am on the 29th
Track of Georges
Georges abruptly returned to the Gulf Coast in the vicinity of Mobile,
and then tracked due-eastward before dissipating in Northeast Florida.
