Maia, cat of Mercury. Maia is the first in the line of Cats of Mercury. She is advisor to Brooke Muzino-Conner/Neo-Sailor Mercury during the Crystal Millennium and was originally among the cats of the Moon. She was specially selected by the Council of Counsels and Brooke herself.
Maia is very intelligent, her sheer brain power almost overtakes Ami Muzino's (Sailor Mercury's), however, she is plagued with self-doubt to the point she's not very social at all. In fact, she's very quiet and doesn't socialize if she isn't continually encouraged. When she finally does emerge from her protective cell, she's not afraid to speak her mind (but is still very hurt if no one listens). Maia is in love with Pan, cat of Persephone. It is an odd case of opposites attracting, because Pan is the most extrovertive of all the cats while Maia is the most introvertive. It is Pan who eventually manages to overcome Maia's shyness.
