THE MIGHTY MOHAWK
The 2000 Banquet was a success although the attendance was down from previous years. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable evening for all. the class of 1960 held their reunion at the banquet, and had a wonderful time.
THE CLASS OF 1965 held it's 35th reunion on July 21 and 22 at Frasure's Chateau Club on Big Bear Creek Road. There were 51 in attendance and it was indeed the best reunion to date. The food at the Chateau was fabulous and both nights partying went into the wee hours of the morning. There were tons of pictures taken and we danced to all the music of our high school days...it was indeed a weekend to remember forever. If you are a 65 graduate who didn't make it to the reunion and would like pictures, just contact me at donnajeansc5@aol.com and I will see what I can get to you. The class of 65 decided not to wait until another 5 years to get together again, so there will a dinner or 2 before 2005, and we also will be planning a trip or cruise together. Classmates will get notification in the mail.

The beautiful new Northwest High building is located next to the old building on Mohawk Drive, McDermott, Ohio. Also, the new elementary school is now located just east of the new high school building.
The association has been established to bring together graduates of NHS once a year on the second Saturday of July. On that date, there is a social hour, dinner, short program during which 2 scholarships are presented to graduating seniors, a roll call by year, with a dance finishing out the evening. If you are a graduate, or if you know the address of someone who is, please leave the information in our guestbook.PLEASE SIGN THE GUESTBOOK. THE MAIN PURPOSE BEHIND THIS PAGE IS TO INFORM THE ALUMNI AND TO COLLECT ADDRESSES AND NAME CHANGES.

And the expectations for this year's event are high. I,as the editor of this page, will not be involved with this year's event as it is my class's 35th reunion year, and I will be very busy with that. It will be put together this year by Bill & Pat Lynn, who have all been members of the association since the begining, and helping them is John Johnson. Since this is our first try at a homepage, we welcome any suggestions.I am really not very good at this html stuff as yet, so if any of you out there would like to help, please let me know...remember, this can be done from the comfort of your home.

COMING FROM THEIR TITLE WINNING '98 SOUTHERN OHIO CONFERENCE DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON LAST YEAR, THE MOHAWK VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM AGAIN HAD A GREAT SEASON. LED BY SENIORS JERRY BARLOW, KEITH EICHENLAUB, AND TRACEY ODLE,AND JUNIORS RYAN MITCHELL AND MATT YEAGER, THE BOYS FINISHED WITH A 17-3 REGULAR SEASON RECORD.POST SEASON PLAY CONTINUED FOR THEM AS THEY WON THE DISTRICT 14 DIVISION II SECTIONAL TITLE BY DEFEATING WAVERLY ON FEB.27. FOLLOWING THE SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, THE MOHAWKS WENT ON TO ATHENS TO TAKE THE VICTORY IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE ATHENS DISTRICT TOURNEY BEATING LOGAN ELM AT THE CONVOCATON CENTER IN ATHENS ON MARCH 4. THE TEAM ADVANCED TO SECOND ROUND PLAY AND WERE DEFEATED BY WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, ENDING THE SEASON WITH A 19-3 OVERALL RECORD EARNING 2ND PLACE IN THE DISTRICT WHICH IS THE BEST SHOWING ANY MOHAWK BASKETBALL TEAM HAS EVER HAD More details on page 2.
