My Ph.D. co-supervisors are Alan Kingstone and Roberto Cabeza. The over-arching research area in Dr. Kingstone's lab is "visual attention", although not everything which goes on in the lab falls under it. Dr. Cabeza's lab encompasses memory research, face perception and the neural mechanisms of emotion.You can be satisfied with that description, or you can go here for the real dirt. My first-year project is a spin-off from another grad student's work in the Kingstone lab. She is exploring the ways which our attention is affected by another person's gaze direction. I have run some experiments to see what aspects of the "gaze" are important.

I finally finished my undergraduate thesis! This accomplishment meant that I could go on editing it, in order to submit it to the academic journal Perception. The thesis that will never end!!!

I graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. in Psychology, on May 19, 1998.
The topic of my thesis was: "The Effects of Inversion, Contrast reversal and Direction of lighting on Face Identification"

I was married on May 30th to Pam (was Landry). We were married in Little Anse, Cape Breton, Pam's hometown. We were joined by a grand showing by both our families, and the wonderful attendance of our pals from Halifax. You can even check out the pictures!
