Rondel is happily married, living with her wonderful husband Ken and infant daughter Katie. Ken is computer programmer and a talented musician, writing New Age, meditational, folk, rock, jazz, and classical music. Katie is a joy and a delight, and a real handful around the house, as she has learned to "cruise" on the furniture, and is fascinated by the whole world.
Other family members on-line include stepfather William Jordan, sisters-in-law Debbie Hensley and Carolyn Greer, and parents-in-law Ken and Alice Lorraine Linder.
The Sunset National Garden book is an updated version of the Sunset Western Garden book, the most useful general gardening reference I have found. Includes listings by categories ranging from shade plants to vines to flower colors! The most useful part of the book, however, is the encyclopedic listing of hundreds of plants, their varieties, habitat, and cultivation.
Eliot Coleman is one of the greats when it comes to teaching about organic gardening. I first discovered him on a show called Gardening Naturally, with Barbara Dammrosch. That program introduces the basics of understanding a garden, so it will produce without chemicals or excessive work. The New Organic Grower takes the same approach, and is the best single guide to the subject of organic gardening I've found.
Want to eat organic food fresh from the garden year-round? Then Four-Season Harvest is the book for you. Eliot Coleman introduces the use of coldframes, mulches, row covers, and simple green-houses, together with climate-appropriate crop rotation, to allow you to eat garden-fresh food all year long.

The tongue-twisting classic Fox in Socks - a wonderful treat for any child who loves rhyme and rhythm as much as our Katie.
The Lorax brings the insight and fun of Dr. Seuss to an understanding of the environment, and the impact we can have on it. A delight for its own sake, not just its message.
