Chapter 2 : Motivation Lucy took her toast and began to spread butter on it as Mary came downstairs. "YEAH! Last day of school!" chanted Mary "Oh, mornin' Mare" Said Lucy turning around "I can never thank you enough!" "I know" Mary said opening the fridge and taking out the orange juice and pouring it into a glass. "So, what's the plan Stan?" asked there mom Polly coming in from out side. "They agreed to going!!!!" exclaimed Lucy just as Russ was coming down the stairs that led from up stairs to the kitchen. "Guys, I thought you were higher then that" joked Polly to Russ and Mary. "Funny, mom, real funny." Russ said as he joined Lucy and Mary at the table. Polly soon sat down with the kids sipping her coffee. "Hey mom!" "Hey Lucy" "Guess what? Hanson is in this months 17." Said Lucy, that was all she really talked about now. Her family had gotten pretty used to it. "Really?" asked Polly. Lucy nodded. "Can I see it?" Asked Polly trying to find a way to get Lucy out of the room. "Sure just a minute" grinned Lucy, pleased that she could share her interest, as she headed up to her room to get the magazine. Polly waited until she was out of hearing distance. "O.K., now you guys, I really appreciate you doing this it means the world to your sister, but..." "but?" asked Mary "but, the chances of you guys finding them are, well, slim to none, so don't get her hopes up TOO much, but still you should encourage her to go for what she wants. Let her dream, but keep your feet on the ground I don't want all of your heads in the clouds on this trip or it wont be safe." "So your saying lie to her and play along." Summed up Mary. Polly nodded shamefully. "I admire you wise parental ways" Said Russ getting up and patting his mom on the shoulder. Polly began to defend her self but stopped short as Lucy came down with the Magazine and began showing it to her mom. "C'mon, guys we'll be late" Russ said. Mary took a last sip of her juice and put it in the sink as Lucy got her back pack on, and headed out the door. ************************************************************* "I can't believe you are actually going to Tulsa!" said one of Lucy's friends, during the end of the year middle school assembly. "and with no parents!" added another "I know!!" agreed Lucy "It still hasn't hit me yet!" "You HAVE to get Hanson's autograph if you meet them!" "O.K. I'll try" said Lucy nodding. ************************************************************* "You'll be gone the whole summer!!" Said Mary's friend Dani sadly. "Yeah" Mary said. "Its for my sisters birthday" "Ohhhhhh...that sux!" said another one of her friends Heidi. "I know, but it probably wont be the whole summer, she'll probably get tierd of hick town, she's a city girl." Said Mary laughing "I hope so" Said Dani "Orrrrrrrr.......you'll meet them!" Heidi said on a more positive side. "ugh I hope not" Mary groaned. "No, but then you'll get to come home earlier" "Oh, yeah" Said Mary smirking. She now decided she would try hard to meet Hanson. ************************************************************* "TRISH!" Yelled Russ trying to catch up with the tall blonde in, the hallway of the high school. "Oh, hey Russ" Tricia said with a sly smile "I cant wait till next week, you know my parents will probably be gone boating most of the time and we'll have the whole cabin to our selves." "oooooo as tempting as that sounds, and believe me it sounds tempting, I've been meaning to tell you this all day, that , well.....I cant go." "what?" Tricia asked in her usual nose plug voice, as her jaw dropped. "Well, me and my sister are taking my other sister some where for her birthday" "For the whole week?" she squealed. Russ nodded "But you had plans with me! No one, breaks plans with me! Said Trish demandingly "Well, there's a first time for everything" said Russ trying to laugh. "I don't find any of this funny, Russ." His smile dropped "Its either go with me to the cabin, or forget about it" "Listen, Trish I want to go I REALL REALY want to go but I promised my sister I'd go to Oklahoma with her, to meet the band Hanson" Russ said walking after her. Tricia stopped. "Did you say Hanson? You mean the cute Hanson?" She asked "Yeah...I guess so" Said Russ. Trish began to smile. "O.K., Russell, you get me and autographed picture and I'll consider scheduling a ski trip this winter...alone" and with that offer she strutted off. Russ was going to have to try a little harder then he had to find these guys. "I hate it when she calls me Russell" he said to himself.
