Thoughts of a Warrior Poet

Jim Fish was with Terminal White Birch for about 6 months late during our involvement in Viet Nam. He was there around the time of the deactivation of RRCUV. Jim is a cowboy poet who has written many pieces. The highpoint of his poet experience was when Gov. Ann Richards, of Texas, invited him to read a poem he had written welcoming home the warriors of Desert Storm from the steps of the State Capitol in Austin, Texas. Below are some of his works. One, called, "Going To War" he wrote back 1972 as a young soldier about to depart for Viet Nam. Another called, "Yesterday" fits so many of us who initally had such lofty ideals what our involvement would do to stem the tide of world communism and how those ideals changed once reality told hold. These works reach out and grab you and are well woth including on our web site.
