About Ralph D. Kennedy

Ralph D. Kennedy 21 years after Viet Nam

A few words about the author of this page, Ralph D. Kennedy. I was in the ASA from June 1967 until March 1971. Duty assignments include PCRS Camp Drake Japan, CRS Saigon, Republic of Vietnam, 311th ASA Battalion,Fort Hood, Texas, and CRS Sobe, Okinawa. I went on to make a career out to the Army and retired in August of 1991. My 20 plus years was with the Signal Corps. I worked on everything from the AN MGC 17 Comcenter van to the AN TYC-39 Automated Message Switch, which was essentially an Autodin switching center on wheels. My career ended with participation in Desert Storm as the operations sargeant of the 142nd Signal Battalion, 2D Armored Division.
