     *Barnabas Horton was born 13 July 1600, Mowsley, Co. Leicestershire, England, married twice. He married firstly to Ann Smith in 1661, Co. Leicestershire, England. Ann was born in 1602, Stanion, Co. Northamptonshire, England, (Note: Ann was born in the village of Stanion. However, many researchers have listed the variation of that village name as being her middle name). Ann died after 1629 in England. Their children were:

1. Joseph Horton, born 1625, Mowsley, Co. Leicestershire, England, married Jane Budd. Jane born 1625, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of John Budd and Katherine Brown. Joseph died 13 June 1696 and Jane died 12 January 1696. Their children were:

     a. Joseph Horton, b: 1654?, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Sophia Jans.

     b. John Horton, b: 1656, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Rachel Hoyt. Rachel b: 1662, Fairfield Co., CT, the daughter of John Hoyt and Mary Brundage. John d: 20 May 1707 and Mary d: 26 Jan 1714, both in Westchester Co., NY. Children: Elizabeth, Phebe, Benjamin, Daniel, Hannah, Caleb and Jonathan Horton.

     c. Samuel Horton, b: 1658, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, died 1733, Westchester Co., NY.

     d. Hannah Horton, b: 1659, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married John Booth. John b: 1657, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of John Booth and Mary Giles. Hannah d: and John d: 17 Dec 1705, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Mehitable, John, Daniel, Patience, Constant, Hananah and Martha Booth.

     e. Benjamin Horton, b: 1660, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Anna Budd on 18 Jun 1686. Anna b: 1667, Westchester Co., NY, the daughter of John Budd and Mary Horton. Benjamin d: 09 Sep 1725 Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island NY and Anna d: 1761 Westchester Co., NY. Children: Phebe, Joseph and John Horton.

     f. David Horton, b: 1664, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Hannah Candee. Hannah b: 14 Nov 1673, Westchester Co., NY, the daughter of Zacheus Candee and Rebecca Bristol. David d: 20 May 1737 and Hannah d: 1710. Children: Joseph, Thomas, Daniel, Abigail, John, Ambrose, Isaac, Nehemiah and Obadiah Horton.

2. Benjamin Horton, born 1627, Mowsley, Co. Leicestershire, England, married Anna Budd. Anna born 1627, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of John Budd and Katherine Brown. Benjamin died 03 November 1690. No children.

3. Ann Horton, born 1629, Mowsley, Co. Leicestershire, England, d: 1640.

      Barnabas married secondly to *Mary Langton. Mary was born 07 February 1607/08, Co. Leicestershire, England, and baptized on 14 February 1607/08, St. Martin, Co. Leicestershire, England, the daughter of *John Langton and *Katherine Butler. Benjamin and his family sailed to the New World aboard the "Swallow" and landed in Massachusetts, then to Connecticut and finally to Southold, New York. Barnabas died 1681 and Mary died 22 October 1670, both in Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York. Barnabas left a Will dated 10 May 1680. Their children were:

5. Mary Horton, born 1636, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married John Budd. John born 1631, Co. Sussex, England, the son of John Budd and Katherine Brown. Mary died 1689 and John died 15 November 1684. John left a Will dated 17 October 1684, naming his wife and children. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York. Their children were:

     a. Mary Budd, b: 1654, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Christopher Youngs. Christopher b: 1642, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of John Youngs and Mary Warn. Mary d: 06 May 1735 and Christopher d: 31 Jul 1695, both in Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island NY. Children: Benjamin, Christopher, John, Anne and Phebe Youngs.

     b. Hannah Budd, b: 1657, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Jonathan Hart. Jonathan b: 22 Feb 1650, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Edward Hart and Margaret Askew. Jonathan d: 1711. Children: Jonathan, Joseph, William and Mary Hart.

     c. John Budd, b: 1659, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Hester Evertes. Hester b: 1660, New York Co., NY, the daughter of John Evertes and Lijsebjen Van Twiller. John d: 1698 and Hester d: 26 Mar 1727. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Joshua, Hester, Joseph, Emma, Anne and Mary Budd.

     d. Ann Budd, b: 1666, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, d: after 1684 (fathers Will).

     e. Joseph Budd, b: 1669, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Sarah Underhill on 11 Oct 1695. Sarah b: 1678, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Humphrey Underhill and Sarah Rowelson. Joseph left a Will dated 27 May 172 . Joseph d: 1722 and Sarah d: 1728, both in Westchester Co., NY. Children John, Joseph, Elisha, Underhill, Gilbert, Hannah, Sarah, Ann, Tamar and Mary Budd.

     f. Sarah Budd, b: 1670, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married twice. She married firstly to Benjamin Conklin. Benjamin b: 1675, Co. Nottinghamshire, England, the son of John Conklin and Elizabeth Alseabrook. Benjamin d: 06 Apr 1694, Children: Timothy, John, Benjamin and Joseph Conklin. Sarah married secondly to Mordecai Homan. Mordecai b: 1670, Co. Somerset, England. Sarah d: 1761 and Mordecai d: 02 Jan 1755. Children: Clementine and John Homan.

6. Caleb Horton, born 23 December 1642, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Abigail Hallock on 23 December 1665. Abigail born 03 April 1642, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of William Hallock and Margaret Howell. Caleb died 03 October 1702 and Abigail died 06 April 1697. They are buried in the Old Burial Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York (findagrave). Their children were:

Sarah b: 10 Apr 1666, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Barnabas Wines and Mary Benjamin. Barnabas d: 15 Nov 1705. Sarah remarried. Children: Caleb, Bethia, Barnabas, Penelope and Mary Horton.

     c. Jonathan Horton, b: 1668, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Bethia Conklin. Bethia b: 1674, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of John Conklin and Sarah Horton. Jonathan d: 23 Jan 1705 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (findagrave). Bethia d: 16 Mar 1743, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Jonathan Horton.

     d. Rachel Horton, b: 1669, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, d: 01 Apr 1697, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY.

     e. Esther Horton, b: 1670, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Jonathan Mapes on 17 Mar 1696. Jonathan b: 20 Jun 1670, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Thomas Mapes. Esther d: 16 May 1709 and Jonathan remarried. Children: Jonathan, Elizabeth, Anne, Caleb, William, Benjamin, Bethuel and Martha Mapes.

     f. Nathaniel Horton, b: 1670, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, d: 1697 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (findagrave).

     g. David Horton, b: 12 Oct 1674, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Mary Horton. Mary b: 1687, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Jonathan Horton and Bethia Wells. David d: 30 Nov 1692. Mary married secondly Zacheus Goldsmith and d: 11 Sep 1749. Children: Abigail, Adam, John, Lydia, Mary Patience, David, Silas and Phebe Horton.

     h. Abigail Horton, b: 1676, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Benjamin Moore. Benjamin b: 1679, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Benjamin Moore and Anne Hampton. Abigail d: 02 Jun 1746 and Benjamin d: 27 Jan 1728. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Mehitable, Benjamin, Hannah, Nathan, Israel, Dorothy, Micah, Abigail, Rachel, James, Samuel, Mary and Silas Moore.

     j. Phebe Horton, b: 1678, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Daniel Purdy. Daniel b: 1676, Westchester Co., NY, the son of John Purdy and Elizabeth Brown. Phebe d: 05 Dec 1706 and Daniel d: 12 Apr 1731. Children: Nathan, Elizabeth, Solomon, John, Israel and Benjamin Purdy

7. Joshua Horton, born 1643, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Mary Tuthill. Mary b: 1644, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of Henry Tuthill and Bridget Burton. Joshua left a Will dated 03 March 1722. Joshua died 17 June 1729 and Mary died 25 June 1729, both in Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York. Their children were:

     a. Elizabeth Horton, b: 1665, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Peter Hallock. Peter b: 1655, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of William Hallock and Margaret Howell. Elizabeth d: 1744. Peter d: 09 May 1703 and is buried in the Old Bethany Cemetery, Mattituck, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Peter, William, Elizabeth, Noah, Sarah, Bethia, Abiah, Mary, and Margaret Hallock.

     b. Joshua Horton, b: 1669, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Elizabeth Grover. Elizabeth b: 15 Sep 1672, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Simon Grover and Elizabeth Moore. Joshua d: 1749 and Elizabeth d: 1713. Children: Eliza, Patience, Debora, Martha, Mary, Simon and Rhoda Horton.

     c. Joseph Horton, b: 1678, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married ____ ____. Joseph d: 1731. Children: Joshua, Benjamin, Joseph, Martha and Lydia Horton..

     e. Sarah Horton, b: 1673, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Richard Terry. Richard b: 25 Mar 1660, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Richard Terry and Abigail Lines. Sarah d: 02 Feb 1734 and Richard d: 21 Feb 1723.

     f. Mary Horton, b: 1675, Cutchogue, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married John Peck. John b: 09 Oct 1675, New Haven Co., CT, the son of Joseph Peck and Sarah Allen. Mary d: 09 Sep 1702 and John d: 31 Mar 1746. Children: Jeremiah Peck.

     g. Bethia Horton, b: 1679, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Ichabod Hallock. Ichabod b: 1706, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Thomas Hallock and Hope Comstock. Bethia d: and Ichabod d. Children: Patience, Anna, Ichabod, Thomas, Bethia and Sarah Hallock.

     h. Zeruiah Horton, b: 1679, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, (listed in her father's Will as Zeruiah Case), married Samuel Case. Samuel b: 1687, Suffolk Co.,Long Island, NY, the son of Henry Case and Tabitha Vail. Samuel left a Will dated 04 Dec 1753, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Zeruiah d: 27 Apr 1775 and Samuel d: 10 May 1755. Children: Joshua, WIlliam, Samuel, Elizabeth, Zeruiah, Rhoda, Bethia, Moses, Mary and Israel Case.

     i. Ephraim Horton, b: 1678, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Martha Vail. Martha b: 1688, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Jeremiah Vail. Ephraim d: 1733. Martha married secondly to Nathaniel Youngs and d: 14 Oct 1752. Children: Joseph, Benjamin, Jeremiah, Ephraim, Joshua, Mary and Deborah Horton.

8. Jonathan Horton, born 1647, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Bethia Wells. Bethia born 1653, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of William Wells and Mary Youngs. Jonathan died 23 February 1707 and Bethia died 14 April 1733. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York (findagrave). Their children were:

     d. William Horton, b: 1678, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Christiana Youngs. Christiana b: 1682, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Benjamin Youngs and Elizabeth Frost. William d: 26 Sep 1728 and Christiana d: 29 Apr 1756. Children: Mary, William, Jonathan, Mercy, Moses, Phoebe and Micah Horton.

     e. Mehitable Horton, b: 1679, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married twice. She married firstly to Christopher Bradley. Christopher b: 11 Jul 1679, New London Co., CT, and baptized 30 May 1680, New London Co., CT, the son of Peter Bradley and Mary Christophers. Christopher d: 1704. Children: Jonathan Bradley. Mehitable married secondly to Daniel Tuthill. Daniel b: 23 Jan 1679/80, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of John Tuthill and Deliverance King. Mehitable d: 07 Sep 1757 and Daniel d: 07 Dec 1762. Children: Mehitable, Nathaniel, Abigail, Daniel, Noah, Patience, Lydia and Mary Tuthill.

David d: 1750. Abigail married secondly to Eleazer Luce. Eleazer b: 1674, Dukes Co., MA, the son of Henry Luce and Rememberance Litchfield. He was previously married to Sarah Wines Horton. Eleazer d: 03 Nov 1740 and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, Ellington, Chautauqua Co., NY (findagrave). Abigail d: 06 Feb 1737/38 and David d: 1750

     g. Jonathan Horton, b: 1683, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Mary Tuthill on 27 Nov 1706, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Mary b: 1687, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of John Tuthill and Mehitable Wells. Jonathan d: 03 Apr 1768 and Mary d: 04 Mar 1780. They are buried in the Old Burying Grounds, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Long Island, NY (findagrave). Children: Azuriah, Lazarus, Mary and Ambrose Horton.

     h. Mary Horton, b: 1687, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (See David Horton above) .

     i. Patience Horton, b: 1692, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Joseph Lamb. Joseph b: 25 Jun 1690, Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA, the son of John Lamb. Patience d: 14 Apr 1729 and is buried in the Mattituck Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Joseph d: 28 Jul 1749 an is buried in the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Basking Ridge, Somerset Co., NJ. Children: Lydia, Elizabeth, John and Joseph Lamb.

     j. James Horton, b: 1694, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Anna Goldsmith. Anna b: 02 Jan 1701, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Thomas Goldsmith and Bethia Terry. James d: 16 May 1762 and Anna d: 08 Mar 1783. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Thomas, Anna, Jonathan, Barnabus, Bethia, Abigail, James, Thomas, Anna, Silas, and Ezra Horton.

9. Mercy Horton, born 01 November 1650, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Christopher Youngs. Christopher was previously married. Christopher born 02 Feb 1642, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the son of Christopher Yonges and Priscilla Elvin. Mercy died 1698 and Christopher died 31 July 1698. Their children were:

     a. John Yonges, b: 21 Oct 1679, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Anna Hallock. Anna b: 1684, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Thomas Hallock and Hope Comstock. John d: 03 Mar 1750 and Anna d: 12 Mar 1725, both in Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY.      *Sarah Horton born 1635, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married twice. She married firstly to *William Salmon. William was born in 1610, England, the son of *Christopher Salmon and *Sarah Curtis. He was previously married to Katherine (Curtis) Sinderland, widow of Matthew Sinderland. William died on 13 May 1657 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York. Their children were:.
