     *Ephraim Lewis, born ca 1758. Ephraim was a soldier in the American Revolution. He was receiving his pension while living in Jonesborough, Washington Co., Tennessee. Ephraim married ____ ____, Their family was listed in the 1790 Spartanburg Co., South Carolina Census with 3 m -16, 3 m +16, 4 f, the 1800 Spartanburg Co., South Carolina Census with 2 m 10-15, 1 m 16-25, 1 m 45 +, 2 f -10, 1 f 10-15, 1 f 26-44, the 1810 Spartanburg Co., South Carolina Census with 1 m -10, 1 m 16-25 m, 1 m 45+, 1 f 10-15, 1 m 16-25, 1 m 45+, 1 f 10-15, 1 f 16-25, 1 f 45+, the 1820 Spartanburg Co., South Carolina with 1 m 16-25, 1 m 45+, 3 f -10, 1 f 16-25, 1 f 45+, and probably the 80-89 m listed in his son Ephraim Lewis household in the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census. Ephraim died on 08 Oct 1845, Carter Co., Tennessee. His children were:

1.  Ephraim Lewis (Tentative), born 1780. He married Elizabeth ____. Elizabeth was born in 1790 in Tennessee. Ephraim was a Private in Co. F, 13th infantry during the Mexican-American War in the Tennessee, His pension was filed in 1851. Their family was listed in the 1830 Carter Co., Tennessee Census records with 2 m -5, 1 m 10-14, 1 m 40-49, 2 f 5-9, 1 f 15-19, 1 f 30-39, and the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census records with 2 m 10-15, 1 m 60-69, 1 m 80-89, 2 f 5-9, 1 f 15-19, 1 f 30-39. Elizabeth was listed in the 1850 Carter Co., Tennessee Census and the 1860 Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census records. Elizabeth married secondly to Valentine Little. Ephraim and Elizabeth's children were:

     g. Minerva Lewis, b: 1832, Carter Co., TN. A Minerva Lewis married Asa Foster on 03 Apr 1858, Carter Co., TN.

3.  Mary Lewis (Tentative), born 1785-1790 (1790), Carter Co., TN. A Mary Lewis married Canada Rigsby on 09 Feb 1809, Carter Co., Tennessee. Canada born 1790, North Carolina. Their family was listed in the 1820-1840 White Co., Tennessee Census records. Canada may have died before 1850 as Mary was listed without a spouse in the 1850 DeKalb Co., Tennessee Census records.

4.  Charles Lewis (Tentative), born 1789, North Carolina. He married Mary Lipps on 28 Jul 1829, Carter Co., Tennessee. Mary was born in 1796, North Carolina. Their family was listed in the 1830 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 30-39, 1 m 70-79 (Ephraim?), 1 f -5, 1 f 30-39, the 1840 Parke Co., Indiana Census with 1 m -5, 3 m 15-19, 3 m 20-29, 1 m 40-49, 1 m 50-59, 1 f 5-9, 1 f 10-14, 2 f 15-19, 1 f 40-49, and the 1850 Dist 2, Rhea Co., TN Census records.      c. Martin Van Buren Lewis, b: 27 Jul 1834, Carter Co., TN. He married Susan ____. Susan, b: 16 Aug 1836, TN. Martin d: 04 May 1920 and Susan d: 04 Dec 1919. They are buried in the Cookeville City Cemetery, Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN (findagrave). Children: Eliza Florence, Crawford Petway Lewis.

6.  Peter Lewis (Tentative), born 1791-1800 (1795), North Carolina. He married Delilah McCloud on 03 May 1819, Carter Co., Tennessee. Delilah was born in 1800 in Tennessee. Their family was listed in the 1830, 1840, 1850, and 1860 Carter Co., Tennessee Census records. Their children were:

7.  Howell Lewis (Tentative), born 1800, North Carolina. He married Rebecca Foster on 04 Oct 1827, Carter Co., Tennessee. Rebecca was born in 1800 in Tennessee. Their family was listed in the 1830 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 2 m 15-19, 1 m 20-29, 1 f -5, 1 f 5-9, 1 f 20-29, the 1840 Milton, Jefferson Co., Indiana Census with 1 m 5-9, 1 m 40-49, 2 f -5, 1 f 15-19, 2 f -5-9, 1 f 10-49, and the 1850-1860 Milton, Jefferson Co., Indiana Census. Rebecca died on 28 May 1862. Howell was listed lastly in the 1870 Milton, Jefferson Co., Indiana Census records. Howell died on 23 Jan 1873. Howell and Rebecca are buried in the Joyce Cemetery, Madison, Jasper Co., Indiana. Their children were:

     *Lewis D. Lewis, born 1777 in North Carolina, possible son of Ephraim and Elizabeth Lewis of Carter Co., Tennessee (not to be confused with the Lewis Lewis of Halifax, North Carolina). He married Barbara aka Barbary _____. Barbary was born in 1776 in Virginia. I have seen a few genealogists list her maiden name as Taylor, however, I have not been able to prove this data as of yet. Their family was listed in the 1799 and 1800 Carter Co., Tennessee Early Tax Lists. The 1800 and 1810 Census records for Tennessee were all lost or destroyed, except for the 1810 Rutherford and Grainger County Census records. Carter County was formed on 01 Jun 1796, from Washington Co., Tennessee, and neighbors Sullivan Co., Tennessee. Carter Co. Tennessee was part of the Washington District in 1775, and in 1777 became Washington Co., North Carolina (TN GenWeb). Lewis was mentioned next in the deed of Christian Careger (Carriger) and John Wade assigns of Edward Wade in the 6th district, of Carter Co., Tennessee on the waters of Stoney Creek: "sixty acres of land from two surveys belonging to the heirs of Michael Careger (Carriger), including the place where Lewis Lewis lives". Lewis and Barbary's family was listed in the 1830 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 1 male 10-14, 1 male 15-19, 1 male 20-29 (probably Frederick Jones), 1 male 40-49, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-9, 2 females 10-14, 2 females 15-19, and 1 female 40-49, the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 1 male 5-9, 1 male 30-39, 1 male 60-69, 2 females 20-29, 1 female 30-39, and 1 female 60-69. Lewis purchased 50 acres of land on the North side of Stoney Creek in Carter Co., Tennessee #2357 on 06 May 1844 next to Michael Grindstaff. Lewis and Barbary were listed next in the 1850 Dist. 10, Carter Co. Tennessee Census, and the 1860 Dist. 2, Carter Co., Tennessee Census living with their daughter Sarah Taylor and her family. Their children were:

1.  Stephen Lewis, born 1801-1810 (Per 1830 Census), Carter Co., Tennessee. He married Dicey Heatherly on 04 Apr 1833 in Carter Co., Tennessee. Dicey was born ca 1804 in Carter Co., Tennessee, the daughter of Ewing and Elizabeth Guinn Heatherly. Their family was listed in the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-9, 1 male 40-49, 2 females under 5, and 1 female 30-39, the 1850 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, the 1860 Div. 1, Carter Co., Tennessee Census. Stephen was lastly listed in the 1880 Carters Furnace, Carter Co., Tennessee Census living with his son James F. M. and family. Stephen died on 03 Sep 1899, and Dicey died on 11 Nov 1879, both in Carter Co., Tennessee. Note: There is a Stephen B. Lewis, b: 24 Oct 1793, d: 03 Dec 1895 (102) that is buried in the Ritchie Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., Tennessee that could be this Stephen. Stephen and Dicey's children were:

     a. Selina Jane Lewis, born: 27 Feb 1829, Carter Co., TN. She married Armstrong Blevins Pierce on 15 Jan 1852, Carter Co., TN. Armstrong was born 06 Jan 1829, Carter Co., TN. Selina died on 17 Dec 1918 and Armstrong died on 16 May 1902, both in Carter Co., TN Children: Emily, Samuel L., Andrew B., Julia, James L. Pierce.

     b. James Francis Marion Lewis, born: 23 Aug 1833, Carter Co., TN. He married Mary Ann Jenkins on 07 Aug 1878, Carter Co., TN. Mary was born on 18 Jan 1844 in TN. James died on 21 May 1913 and Mary died on 14 Nov 1831. They both are buried in the Ritchie Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN (findagrave). Children: William H., Sanford S., Walter E., Sarah M. "Sally", and July N. Lewis.

     c. Hasten J. Lewis, born: May 1835, Carter Co., TN. He married Mary Culbert on 19 Apr 1860, Carter Co., TN. Mary was born on Jun 1842 in TN. Hasten died sometime after the 1900 Census was taken and Mary died sometime after the 1910 Census was taken. Children: Benjamin, James, William, Mary, Elizabeth, Eliza, James L., Matilda, Margaret, Charles C., Benjamin, George G., William , Samuel D., and Annie D. Lewis.

     d. Emeline Lewis, born: 1838, Carter Co., TN. An Emeline married Alexander Culbert on 03 Jan 1859, Carter Co., TN.

     e. Julia Ann Lewis, born: 16 May 1840, Carter Co., TN. She married twice. She married first to James L. White on 27 Apr 1859 in Carter Co., TN. James was born in 1838 in TN. She married secondly to Benjamin B. Ferguson ca. 1870 in Carter Co., TN. Benjamin was born on 14 Nov 1832, TN. Julia Ann died on 19 Jan 1927 and Benjamin died on 07 Apr 1905, both in Carter Co., TN. Children: William, James L.,Nancy, Everett, John F., Elbert, and Joseph Ferguson.

     f. Frederick J. Lewis, born: 27 May 1842, Carter Co., TN. He married Nancy A. Hinkle on 15 Mar 1863, Carter Co., TN. Nancy was born on 03 Jun 1846, TN. Frederick died on 03 Aug 1902, and Nancy died on 03 Sep 1906. They both are buried in the Carter Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN (findagrave). Children: Stephen, Hester Helen A., and Jennie Lewis.

     g. Stephen H. L. Lewis, born: 27 May 1842, Carter Co., TN. He married Minerva Fletcher on 15 Jun 1876, Carter Co., TN. Minerva was born in 1858, TN. Minerva married secondly to Samuel A. Milam in 1888. Stephen and Minerva's children: Julia, Houston, Lillie, and Gordon Lewis.

3.  Febery Lewis, born ca 1802, Carter Co., Tennessee. She married Frederick Jones on 09 Mar 1829, Carter Co., TN. Frederick was born in 1800 in PA. Children:

     a. Stephen Jones, born: 1830, Carter Co., TN. He married Elizabeth Vandeventer on 09 Jan 1851, Carter Co., TN. Elizabeth was born ca Dec 1826, TN. Children: Ellen, Louisa C., Jacob, Lorina J., William, Thomas and Rebecca Jones.

     b. Nancy A. Jones, born: 1832, Carter Co., TN. She married twice. She married first to Finley Crumley on 16 Jul 1846, Carter Co., TN. Finley was born in 1822 and died in 1848. Children: Finley and Rebecca J. Crumley. Nancy married secondly to Abraham Nave on 20 Jan 1852, Carter Co., TN. Abraham was born 16 Mary 1834. Nancy died in Sep 1859 (US Mortality Schedule) and Abraham died on 15 Feb 1893 (findagrave). Children: Mary Ann, Henry J., and Nancy J. Nave.

     c. Henry A. Jones, born: 1836, Carter Co., TN. He married Eliza A. Williams on 02 Oct 1853, Carter Co. TN. Eliza was born in 1837 in TN. Children: Frederick E., Calvin G., Samuel J., William B., Porter B., Henry T. Jones.

     d. William Carter Jones, born: 06 Jan 1838, Carter Co., TN. He married Sarah Willliams, Sarah was born in 1844 in KY. William died on 189 Aug 1914 and Sarah died on 29 Apr 1918. They are both buried in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Mercer Co., IL (findagrave). Children: Isaac T., Nancy E., Stephen H., John, Rosa, Cora, and Minnie Lewis

4.  Nancy Matilda Lewis, born 11 Sep 1803, Carter Co., Tennessee. She married Jonathan Lipps on 12 Feb 1845 in Carter Co., Tennessee. Jonathan was born on 24 Oct 1777 in Wilkes Co., North Carolina. Jonathan appears to have been married and had children before he married Nancy according to Census records. Nancy and Jonathan were listed in the 1850 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, the 1860 Div. 2, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, the 1870 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census. Nancy was listed in the 1880 Carter's Furnace, Carter Co., Tennessee Census. Nancy died on 27 Aug 1894, and Jonathan died on 31 Dec 1877. They both are buried in the Buckles Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., Tennessee (findagrave). Nancy's child:

5.  Eleanor "Elender" Lewis, born ca 1804, Carter Co., Tennessee. She married Samuel Anderson on 23 Jul 1830 in Carter Co., Tennessee. Samuel was born in 1804 in Tennessee. Their family was listed in the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-9, 1 male 30-39, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-9, and 1 female 30-39, the 1850 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, the 1860 Div. 2, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, and the 1870 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census records.      d. William H. Anderson, born: 1835 Carter Co., TN. He died on 25 Feb 1864, KY of inflammation of the lungs at Camp Nelson, KY, and is buried in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Jessamine Co., KY (findagrave). Married Dicey Stout on. Dicie was born on 11 Jan 1840 in Johnson Co., TN. She married secondly to Valentine Garland. Children: Emma Ellen Anderson.

     e. Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Anderson, born: 1835, Carter Co., TN. She married Daniel Godfrey Campbell on 29 Apr 1855, Carter Co., TN. Daniel was born in 1835, TN. Children: Seraphina J., Samuel H., Mary Elender, William F., James R., Martha E., Mordecai G., George, Emily Cordelia, John, and Mary Campbell.

     f. Martha Anderson, born: 1840, Carter Co., TN. She married Michael P. Elliott on 06 Oct 1866, Carter Co., TN. Michael was born on 26 Aug 1843 , Carter Co., TN. Martha died on 10 Jan 1883 in Carter Co., TN. Michael married secondly to Malinda Taylor. Martha and Michael's children were: William, Samuel, Eliza, Thomas J., Wheeler, David K., and LIllie Elliott.

     g. Phebe Anderson, born: 1842, Carter Co., TN.

     i. James C. R. Anderson, born: 08 Apr 1844, Carter Co., TN. He married Rebecca Jane Crumley. He died on 30 Aug 1924 in Johnson City, Washington Co., TN. Children: Lewis H., Mary, and Lillie Anderson.

7.  Lewis D. Lewis, born 1811-1815 (Per 1830 Census), Carter Co., Tennessee. He married Lorina Francis "Fannie" Peters on 16 Feb 1845 in Carter Co., Tennessee. Fannie was born in 1825 in Tennessee the daughter of Samuel Drake and Jemima Peters. Their family was listed in the 1850 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, the 1860 Div. 1, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, the 1870 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, and the 1880 Stoney Creek, Carter Co., Tennessee Census records.      b. Samuel Brownlow Lewis, born: 21 Oct 1847, Carter Co., TN. He married Sarah Matilda Nidiffer on 24 Oct 1869, Carter Co., TN. Sarah was born in Jan 1849 in TN. He died on 06 Feb 1908, Kings Co., CA, and is buried in the Grangville Cemetery, Armona, Kings Co., California, and Sarah died on 17 Dec 1922, Kings Co., CA. Children: Nancy L., Margaret E., William J., Eliza Adeline, John D., Nicholas R., and Millie E. Lewis.

     c. William Milburn Lewis, born: , He married Nancy Garland on 16 Apr 1871, Carter Co., TN. Nancy was born on 08 Mar 1851, TN. Nancy died on 11 Nov 1935, Carter Co., TN (TN Death Records). Children: Nicholas Jefferson, Daisy, Annie, and John Lewis .

     d. Nicholas R. Lewis, born: 30 Mar 1850, Carter Co., TN. He married Angeline Housley on 15 Oct 1868, Carter Co., TN. Children: Eliza J., Fannie, Sarah, Julia, and Delia Lewis. He married secondly to Alice L. Apple on 18 Oct 1888, Forsyth Co., NC. Alice was born 27 Jan 1872, Greensboro, Guilford Co., TN . Nicholas died on 13 Oct 1938, and is buried in the Green Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC (findagrave). Children: James Hart, and William R. Lewis.

     e. James Murray Lewis, born: 17 Sep 1855, Carter Co., TN. He married Judith Eveline Heatherly on 28 Feb 1876, Carter Co., TN. Judith was born 22 Jun 1853, Carter Co., TN. James died on 07 Jun 1923, and Judith died on 12 Mar 1936 (Tennessee Deaths Records). They both are buried in the Grindstaff Cemetery, Carter Co., TN (findagrave). Children: William M., Landon T., Lizzie, Mary, Martha, Joseph B., and Nancy Lewis.

     f. Hasten S. Lewis, born: May 1858, Stoney Creek, Carter Co., TN. He married Mary Ann Taylor on 07 Jan 1883, Carter Co., TN. Mary was born on 01 Feb 1863, Carter Co., TN. Hasten died on 28 Jan 1923 in Washington Co., TN, and is buried in the Stoney Creek Cemetery, Carter Co., TN (TN Death Records), and Mary died on 13 Dec 1918, and is buried in the Markland Graveyard, Carter Co., TN (TN Death Records). Children: Fannie E., Margaret B. and Robert Lewis.

     g. Cordelia Nancy "Delia" Lewis, born: 20 Jun 1860, Carter Co., TN. She married Allen A.Taylor on 30 Nov 1878, Carter Co., TN. Allen was born on 15 Jun 1858, Carter Co., TN. Delia died on 20 Jun 1913, and is buried in the Ritchie Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN. Allen died on 02 Jun 1932. Children: Lillie, Samuel, and Daniel Taylor.

     h. Eliza Lewis, born: 1862, Carter Co., TN. She never married. She died on 30 Jan 1917, Carter Co., TN. She is buried in the Grindstaff Cemetery, Carter Co., TN.

     i. Sarah Ellen Lewis, born: 19 Dec 1868, Carter Co., TN. She married James W. Morton on 19 Oct 1884, Carter Co., TN. James as born in Jan 1863 in Carter Co., TN. Sarah died on 01 Feb 1940, and James died in 1913. They both are buried in the Hall Cemetery, Braemar, Carter Co., TN. Children: Lorina C., Meredith, Lottie Pearl, Fannie J., James Dalton, Lilia L., Fannie J., Lena B. Morton.

8.  Lorina Lewis, born 1811-1815 (Per 1830 Census), Carter Co., Tennessee. She married Jacob Vandeventer on 16 Mar 1843 in Carter Co., Tennessee. Jacob was born ca 1811 in Tennessee. Their family was listed in the 1850 and 1870 Dist. 10, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, and the 1880 Carter's Furnace, Carter Co., Tennessee. Their children were:

     a. Joseph P. Vandeventer, born: 1844, Carter Co., TN. He married Nancy J. Buckles on 02 Jun 1870, Carter Co., TN. Nancy was born on 06 Mar 1845, Carter Co., TN. Joseph died in 1933, and Nancy died on 01 Dec 1928. They both are buried in the Buckles Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., Tennessee. Children: Marion, James C., Catherine, William S., Lorina Vandeventer.

     c. Sarah A. Vandeventer, born: 06 Jul 1846, Carter Co., TN. She married Samuel D. Peirce 05 Dec 1865, Johnson Co. TN. Samuel was born 08 Jul 1845, Carter Co., TN. Sarah died on 22 Dec 1919 and Samuel died in 1888. They both are buried in the Buckles Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN. Children Samuel Dallas, Jacob C., James Griffin, Andrew, Sarah, Thomas B., William A., John W., Caleb, Alfred B. Pierce.

     d. Barbra Elizabeth "Barbary" Vandeventer, born: 27 Mar 1848, Carter Co., TN. She married Landon Bowers on 25 Jan 1877, Carter Co., TN. Barbary died on 18 Apr 1917, Winner, TN. Landon left a Will that was probated on 05 Jan 1910. Children: Nora E. Bowers.

     e. Mary Catherine Vandeventer, born: 18 Apr 1850, Carter Co., TN, and died on 06 Mar 1927, Johnson City, Carter Co., TN, and is buried in the Buckles Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN.

12. Sarah Lewis, born 1821-1825, Carter Co., Tennessee. She married Michael Taylor on 02 Oct 1846 in Carter Co., Tennessee. Michael was born 1822, Carter Co., Tennessee. Michael died on 18 Nov 1879 and is buried in the Stoney Creek Cemetery, Carter Co., Tennessee. Their children were:

     a. Jacob P. Taylor, born: 1847, Carter Co., TN. He married Belodora "Bell" White on 04 Oct 1878, Carter Co., TN. Jacob died on 15 May 1920 in Embreeville, Unicoi Co., TN. Children: Emmett, Daisy, Louisa, William, Jefferson, and Nicholas Taylor.

     b. Lewis D. Taylor, born: May 1848, Carter Co., TN. He married Elizabeth Richey/Ritchie on 03 Mar 1872, Carter Co., TN. Elizabeth was born in Mar 1854, TN. Children: Hester, Michael T., Thomas Jefferson, Kerlin, Caleb, and Andrew Taylor.

     c. William Taylor, born: 1854, Carter Co., TN..

     d. James Jefferson Taylor, born: 01 Sep 1855, Carter Co., TN. He married Elizabeth B. Morrell on 06 Mar 1879, Carter Co., TN. Elizabeth was born 03 Feb 1857, Sullivan Co., TN. James died on 21 Jun 1915 (TN Death Records), and is buried in the Grindstaff Cemetery, Carter Co., TN (findagrave). Elizabeth died on 29 Apr 1927 (TN Death Records), and is buried in the Ritchie Cemetery, Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN (findagrave). Children: Daniel, and David Ernest Lewis.

    *Elizabeth Lewis, born 1811-1815 (Per 1830 Census), Carters Furnace, Carter Co., Tennessee. She married Nicholas Rodgers on 20 Oct 1834, Carter Co., Tennessee. Nicholas was born in 1810 (2 Census records state he was born in Virginia, one; Tennessee, and the other; North Carolina). At that time the boarders of these states were in constant flux. Nicholas could be the "possible" son of Nicholas Rodgers. Their family was listed in the 1830 Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census with 1 male 5-9, 1 male 20-29, 1 female under 5, and 2 females 20-29, the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census with 1 male under 5, 1 male 20-29, 2 females under 5, and 1 female 20-29, the 1850 Subdivision 30, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census, the 1860 Dist. 1, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census, the 1870 Dist. 4, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census, and lastly the 1880 Carter's Furnace, Carter Co., Tennessee Census records. Nicholas's trade was a Blacksmith. Their children were:

1. Mary Jane "Jane" Rodgers born 1830-1835 (Per 1830 Census) 1835, Tennessee. She married William Bolling/Boling. Jane was listed as Jane Boling in the 1860 Dist. 1, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census living with her parents. Jane was listed next in the 1870 Dist. 4, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census now listed as Jane "Rogers", living with her parents, and the 1880 Carter's Furnace, Carter Co., Tennessee Census, also living with her parents. I could not find any other information on Jane. Jane should not be confused with the Jane Rogers that married John Shanks. Her father was James Rogers. Jane had one son. He was:

     a. Samuel Jacob Bolling/Boling, born: 08 Apr 1855, Carter Co., TN. He married Clara A. F. Bolling/Boling on 24 Jan 1886, Carter Co., TN. Clara was born: Jun 1869, TN. Jacob died on 29 Jan 1948, and Clara died on 16 Aug 1910. Children: Bessie Jane, Edith Maude, Bertie Augustus, Virgie M., Mira Pearl, and Blanch V. Bolling.

2. Son: Rodgers born 1821-1825 (5-9) (Per 1830 Census), Tennessee.

3. Son: Rodgers born 1835-1840 (-5) (Per 1840 Census), Tennessee.

4. Matilda Emily Rodgers born 1835-1840 (-5) (Per 1840 Census), probably Carter Co., Tennessee.

5. Sarah F. Cornelia Rodgers, (See 3rd Generation), born: 1835-1840 (Per 1840 Census) 22 Jun 1840, Carter Co., Tennessee (due to Nicholas being listed in the 1840 Carter Co., Tennessee Census).

6. Reuben B. Rodgers born ca 1844 (Per 1850 Census), Tennessee. He was listed in the 1850 Subdivision 30, Sullivan Co., Tennessee, and the 1860 Dist. 1, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Census records living with his parents. This is the last bit of information I have on him.

7. Eleanor Adeline "Adeline" Rodgers born ca 1849 (Per 1850 Census), Tennessee. Adeline was still living at her parents home in 1880. I have not been able to find information on her either.
