Will of Thomas Goldsmith In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Goldsmith of Holmsfield, in the Highlands of Ulster County, in the province of New York, being very sick and weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God tat gave it and my body I recommend to the to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form imprimus. Item: I give and bequeath to my eldest son Richard the sum of ten shillings current lawful money of New York. Item: I give and bequeath to my second son Thomas ten shillings current money aforesaid. Item: I give and bequeath to my third son Elisha ten shillings current lawful money aforesaid. Item: I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Abigail and her Heirs and Assingnes forever one thousand acres of land being a Grant lying and being in Orange County Grandted to me by James Duncan, Elizabeth Duncan, and Matthew Marmene by Deeds of Lease and Release dated 11th and 12th days of Aprile in the Year of our Lord Christ, one thousand seven hundred, and thirty five. And alsso I give my well beloved wife Abigail and her Heirs and Assignes forever all that thousand acres of land wheron I now live called Holmsfield situate upon the Palts river in Ulster County. Together with the houses and approvements theron. Item: I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Abigail all the tract of two hundred fifty acres of land released to me by David Horton and John Tuthill by Deed bearing date June 27th Anno Domini 1733 situate near Goshen. Item: I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Abigail two thirds of my Right in Newburgh Warehouse to her and her Heirs and Assignes forever. And I also give and bequeath to my said wife all the rest of my movable Estate of what nature kind or quality soever. Item: I bequeath to my daughter Abigail Tuthill and to her Heirs and Assignes forever on third part of my right in Newburgh Storehouse. And I do hereby ordain nominate and appoint my said wife and my brother in law Charles Booth sole Executors to this my last Will and Testament. And I do hereby disanul and make void all former Wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this only as my last Will and Testament.
