Brandon Bruce Lee

Brandon Bruce Lee was born Febuary 1, 1965 at East Oakland Hospital in California weighing 8lbs and 11 oz, to the legendary Jun Fan Bruce Lee and Linda Emery Cadwell Lee. He has one sister, Shannon Emery Lee. He spoke Cantonese, spent some time in Hong Kong and in the trained the martial arts like his father. He attended Boston's Art-Oriented emerson College in New York. In 1983 hewas expelled from his school because of misbehaviour, but recieved his diploma at Miraleste High school. He turned down the role to be in "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story".

On march the 31th 1993, Michael Massee, Funboy, was supposed to shoot Brandon with a blank during the filming of a flashback sequence. His prop gun fired a .44 caliber bullet instead, which struck Brandon in the abdomen. After 12 hours of emergancy surgery, Brandon died. No case has opened, it's been offically determend that Brandon's death was an accident.

The flashback scene required Funboy's gun to be loaded, cocked and then pointed at the camera. Because of the close-range of the shot, the bullets loaded had real brass caps, but no powder. After the cut, the propsmaster (not the armsmaster - he had left the set for the day) dry-fired the gun to get the cock off, knocking an empty cartridge into the barrel of the gun. The gun was loaded with blanks ( which usually contain the double or triple the powder of a normal bullet to make a loud noise ). Brandon entered the set carrying a bag of groceries containing an explosive blood pack. As Brandon entered the room, Michael Massee (Funboy) was supposed to shot Brandon (Eric Draven), triggering the blood pack. Instead, the cartridge that was stuck in the barrel was blasted at Brandon through the bag he was carrying, killing him. The doctors worked desperately for five hours, but it was no use. He was pronounced dead at 1:04 pm the next day. The footage of the scene was destroyed without being developed. He was laid to rest in Lake View Cemetary in Seattle, Washington next to his father Bruce. On April 3, there was a funeral. There were 400 people there, including Steven Seagal, David Carradine, and Brandon's best friend and stunt co-ordinator, Jeff Imada. Linda kept everyone's spirits up by saying, "Brandon would have wanted this to be a joyful occasion. We;re here to be happy and celebrate the life of Brandon Lee."

"I don't know if I was destined to play this role, but I feel very fortunate doing so" -Brandon Lee
