On January 14, 1998 Father Joe was transferred from St. Mary's.  He left for for Rome, Italy on January 28, 1998 and is living at the Pontifical North American College, attending the Institute for Continuing Theological Education at the Vatican City State.  This time is called a Sabbatical - a time of study, spiritual renewal, rest and recreation.  Father Joe will also visit the Czech Republic and return to the U.S.A. on May 28, 1998.  He will then be with family and relatives until June 30th, awaiting new assignment in the Diocese of Victoria.   Fr.
