Prophesy which is told that the Hantei Emperor would destroy Rokugan, Shoju of the Bayushi Family was to use his skills and his clan to take Otosan Uchi under siege at night and man the fortifications agianst the other Great Clans.

Akodo Totouri was drugged by a geisha and it came out to be the Lion and Crane turned agianst each other. Shoju had predicted that the other clans would not be ready in time to stop his assault. However the Unicorn arrived 3 days earlier than Bayushi Shoju expected. This caused the Scorpion delay and just enough time for the rest of the clans and counter attack the treacherous Scorpion.

As the clans attacked, Bayushi Shoju asked Hida Kisada, Clan Champion and Daiymo to bring the Crab in his assistance. The Great Bear refused, and joined in the assault against the Scorpion, sending them to their doom.

In the end, Shoju was slained by the Emerald Champion, and the young Hantei, was smuggled by the Phoenix, and announced himself as Emperor. Scorpion, thought to be destroy, the new Emperor took Bayushi Shoju's wife's hand, Bayushi Kachiko, as his new wife. Akodo Toturi, who was furious at the Emperor, had his Akodo House stipped and his honor, all excpet for Akodo Kage, who was reproach.
