Kattelox Island is populated by colourful townspeople. Diversity is the rule here. Actually, I'm a lying bitch and I'm yanking your chain: all the townspeople look the same. ;P
But it's not about the townspeople...it's about the main characters, right? :) Anyway, your average video game townsperson has been as dull as grey dishwater since Dragon Warrior. I guess some things never change!
Well, here are the main characters, their backgrounds, and some info on their voice actors, where applicable. Wanna know something cool? From what I've researched, the voice actors are professional, and they're Canadian. :)~. Watch for SPOILERS!
MEGA MAN TRIGGER
See? See? A spoiler right from the start! Just by looking at the name!
Mega Man is, of course, the hero of the game. He was found as a baby by Barrel Casket. Barrel was obviously on crack when he named the orphaned baby Mega Man. Either that or he's just very creative.
There's a lot more to Mega than meets the eye. Let's make one thing clear: he is not a human. He's a...um, he's...well, actually, I'll level with ya'll ... I still don't fully understand all of the technical mumbo jumbo that is spurted at the end of the game. But from what I can gather, his function was to wake up Mega Man Juno at the Main Gate so that Juno could activate "Eden", a pod full of lethal robots meant to kill every human on Kattelox Island in under five minutes. Deadly game of dominos we've got going here.
Trigger doesn't mean to be a nasty killer-type robot. It's an akward scenario for him, kinda like on DBZ, when Gokou found out that he was sent to earth as a baby to clense the planet of all human life. Well, actually, it's a LOT like that! :P
Voice Actor: Corey Sevier
Hey everyone! Mega Man has a MALE voice in Mega Man Legends!!
AUDIENCE: *Gasp!*
That's right! Legends is a Capcom game with voices that DON'T suck!
AUDIENCE: *Collectively faints*
Corey Sevier is Canadian, and he's still around doing stuff. He plays Timmy on YTV's remake of the classic "Lassie" series.
ROLL CASKET
Roll is Barrel Casket's granddaughter, and was raised alongside Trigger like a sister. Despite this, they're best friends. Roll is on a mission to find her parents, who were both Diggers. (Diggers um, well, dig for reactor shards, which is basically solidified fuel for almost anything that moves. Reactor shards can be sold for big $$.)
Voice actor: Tracy Ryan
Those of you with Teletoon will probably be quick to peg Roll's voice if you watch Ned's Newt: Tracy Ryan plays the voice of Lina Bliss, Ned's crush. Damn, Ned's such a cute little guy, too bad that big stupid Newt ruins the whole show.
TRON AND TIESEL BONNE
Ah yes, the Bonnes. The Bonnes are a family of pirates after "The Mother Lode," a giant reactor shard that's worth a million zillion smackeroos or something like that. Only one thing stands in their way: those meddling kids, AKA Roll and Mega. They command the Servebots, psychotic little Lego people who're as cute as buttons. They need only say one thing for them to win you over: "Rooogeer!"
You'll never hear Tron and Tiesel accuse each other of imcompetence when plans screw up. Rather, they encourage each other when the chips are down, and for this reason they make an efficient (and refreshing) villianous team. Family ties are very important to the Bonnes ... it's obvious just by the giant picture of his parents that Tiesel has hanging proudly in the den of his air fortress. The Brady Bonnes! Gotta love it.
Oh, and let us not forget Baby Bonne, a giant Metool. You gotta wonder what kind of breeding goes on in that family. Who's his voice actor, asketh you? One word. "PiiiiikaaaaaCHUUUUUUUU!" Thanks to all of youse who mailed to tell me :)
Interesting note about Tron, she eventually develops a crush on Mega after he saves her from the terror of Paprika, the psychotic little rat dog. The new emotions confuse the hell right out of Tron. 14 is such an akward age.
DATA
Data is Mega's pet monkey, and like all monkeys, Data's a bit of a perv. But we love him anyway. :) To the untrained ear, Data's vocabulary stops at "Eee eee!" Mega, on the other hand, can have colourful conversations with this dancing Kong. Data is actually Mega's "Memory backup, created so that his memory couldn't also be copied by Mother." No, I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds intersting, don't you think?
BARREL CASKET
Roll's grandfather. A lovable old man who has a metal plate for half a head for some reason. He doesn't do all that much other than screw up Roll's orders and send them all crashing down on Kattelox.
MEGA MAN JUNO
The big mean bastard. You've got to love this guy ... there's something special about him. When Mega Man Trigger meets up with him, he doesn't rant like Wily, and he doesn't sneer like Sigma. He smiles politely for all the world like a tea party host and calmly explains why Kattelox Island must be re-initialized by Eden: Humans are unstable creatures, hard to control and way too fond of reproducing. Reproduction is fun, we can't help it!
But Juno don't care. I love the guy.
Voice actor: Jeff Mallory
Jeff is another Canadian ... I couldn't find any information on any set roles he played in television, but he served as an extra on Road To Avonlea, a series on CBC that used to be a huge hit among those who loved Anne of Green Gables...in other words, all Canadians. :P
And that is that. I might add more characters to this list, but that covers all the main ones. If anyone has any more information on the voice actors, let me know! I'd like to put it up. :)
Until then...
