'HIBERNATION'

Winter's northern wind whistles its cutting refrain;
Icy gleaming teeth sharply smile in frozen pane;
Night's darkened chill falls broken, midst howling bare trees;
Tightly wrapped, burrowed badger's hiding from bleak breeze;
Earth's harvest now yields a harrowing grave-she weeps;
Retired beneath deep snowy blanket, nature sleeps.

'SIBILANCE'

Seldom seen so silent,
Soft sifted swirling snow,
Slipping sideways, sinking slow.
Such sights send strong sentiment
Subtly seeking sunshine's show,
Straight South, secret sneaking stow,
Surrounded, soothed, so silent.
