Mass Moca Fire 9/30/01
On Sunday 9/30/01 at 11:10 am the North Adams fire department was
dispatch to Mass Moca for smoke and flames showing from a window
at Mass Moca. As engine 2 rounded Main st. On to Marshall Heavy
smoke anf flames could be seen comming from building 13. A second
alarm was then ordered along with mutual aid from Clarksburg.
The fire loaction was the 1st floor west side of building 13.
It took fire fighters about 40 minutes to knock down the flames.
The building recieved heavy damage to the first floor and smoke
damage to two of the surrounding buildings.
