Outlaws Tournament Champs In Thriller!!!!
It had to end this way, after the Championship game being changed and drawn out so many times, it was in the cards that it would take 2 overtime periods and a pentaly shootout to determine the winner of the game.
But first the game itself was a brusing match as the elements played a huge factor. With winds gusting into the East goal the Outlaws took shot after shot but came away with only a single goal on a follow by Jimmy Tancred. The second half proved to be a bit harsh on the Outlaws as the wind and Groveport kept them pinned in their own end for most of the second half with and equalizing goal coming with 5 minutes left in regulation. The outlaws fought feverishly to keep the ball out as time expired and we headed into 2 5 minute halves tied at 1.
The outlaws lost the coinflip and again were forced to defend against the wind. While the batteled hard, Groveport scored it's second goal with 1 1/2 minutes to go in the first half of overtime. The start of the second half of the overtime was a brutal and harsh fought one with neither team able to mout a serious threat and things looked bleak for the Outlaws. But as quick as the wind had been shifting all night a great pass (from whom I don't know ) came from the center back third to an on rushing Brandon Ingram and as time slipped away He took the ball on a breakaway and lashed it to the back of the net tearing it and continuning through. (ok a little over dramatic I guess)
with only seconds remaining. They had did it, a goal and new life for the Outlaws. So now we entered the Fifa Shootout. Our five shooter were picked and whoever mad the most out of the five would be the champs. Our shooters were David Wisner, Brian Saunders, Brandon Ingram, Justin Mangold, and Andy Callahan. The Outlaws wone the toss and chose to shoot first.
David Wisner stepped up and calmly shot low and right , getting a good bounce slammed into the back of the net. 1-0 Outlaw! Next Brandon Ingram in goal readied for the first Groveport Player, Shot right ...SAVE!!!!First Round Outlaws 1 Groveport 0. Next Brian Saunders to kick. He palced the ball and with out a movement from the goalie he nails the upper right !!!!!!!!!Next the Groveport Player set the ball and Shoots left....SAVE Brandon Ingram>>>Outlaws 2 Groveport O
Then Brandon Ingram take to the pentaly line and slams it into the back of the net ......Groveports third shooter comes up. As he hits the ball right Ingram dives and swats it away!!!!!!!!!OUTLAWS WIN !!!!!OUTLAWS WIN!!!!!!!
It had been a very well played and had fought game and now the Outlaws were the champions!!!!1Final Outlaws 3 Groveport 2 (Shootout 3-0 Outlaws).
