Fragonard. 1776. A Young Girl Reading (81x65cms)

A YOUNG GIRL READING is aglow with the softest of umbers, the rich colour darkening and paling as it follows the girl's contours. There is contrast between the frills and ribbons on the girl's neck and chest and the round body.
