I have created this page in the hopes of helping someone go through the process of applying and recieving SSI or Supplemental Security Income.
From experience, I know that this is a two year process. Not just in the state that I reside in but nationwide. I first applied for Supplemental Securtiy Income in October, 1994. I was denied benefits that time. I reapplied in 1995 and agian I was denied. Again, I reapplied, but this time with the help of a lawyer who handled disability cases, asking for a Hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge. I recieved a hearing date that was set for Sept 9, 1996. I went to the hearing and my lawyer presented my side of the case. Asking me questions that pretained to my health at that time. After hearing my testimony, the Judge asked the Vocational Expert some questions. At the end, the Judge said the proceeding was over and that he would review the testimony and make his decision.
After we left the hearing my Lawyer said he didn't know if I won my disability case or not. But I knew that I had by the way the VE answered the questions he was asked. I recieved my Disability Award letter in the middle of December of 1996, tellig me that I had won. Enough about me . Now to the links.
