INQUIRIES
Morgan West stepped through the air lock a little unsteadily, trying to adjust to the lesser gravity of Neil Armstrong Luna Facility. He'd prepared himself mentally for this trip, but the physical realities of it still threw him, and the adjustments he'd expected himself to make so easily, were proving more difficult than he'd anticipated. He was a young man, in his early twenties, and as such, was accustomed to an almost immediate adaptation to his surroundings. But adjusting to the Moon's environment was trickier than he'd been led to believe and, as a new arrival, he still hadn't gotten his "lunar legs" yet. TIMESENSE

Following the near-fatal lightening strike, Timateo's reelig senses barely (grasped/record/will reconize) the scene in the small emergency clinic.

People (surrounded/are working on/will appear) around his inert and scorched body. They (were/are/will be) at once old and young, grown and small, there and gone.

The emergency room (vanished/is being built/will crumble) around them simultaneously.

The open sky above them is searingly bright, entirely overcast, brilliantly starshot black, and obscured by the ER ceiling, in an unending, synchronous repetition.

The jungle beyond the clinic (vibrated/shimmers/will shrivel) as plants and trees and vines (died/grow/will sprout) like wriggling green worms.

It (was/is/will be) too overwhelming for Timateo's struggling mind, and he (surrendered/gives in to/will succumb to) the Void....

A simple, softly spoken statement brings Timateo momentarly back to reality.

"I think he's coming to--"

He stirs, is immediately overcome by blinding pain, and groans aloud.

Someone with a professional tone, says, "Give him some more morphine."

And the Void closes about him once more.
