The Wild Thornberrys Movie
by SpiderBraids A trailer is here, with a man and a woman. Eliza flags it down. The man praises her for jumping off the train. Braceface hands the man the knife, and he has a look on his face. Here's a truck with a bunch of African guys. Braceface tells everyone there all she knows about the poachers, and mentions Jomo. The trailer dudes introduce themselves: Sloan Blackburn and his wife Bree. He's studying endangered wildlife and she's a wildlife vet, so they say. Never mind that the promo for this flick totally emphasizes the spazz they're doing later on. The rhino gets dragged on to the African guys' truck, headed for a sanctuary. Blackburns praise her for being brave, and offer E&D a ride, but Eliza says their camp is close. Now that they're alone, E&D realize that they've got a lot to deal with where the poachers are concerned, so they're headed to back to camp. Her backpack is conveniently placed at that very part of the railroad, and they start following it. "We'll get there, in the morning..." Chimp quips: "Thunder said there'd be days like this." Fade to black. Night time. Commvee. Spazz "reads" Donnie Jack and the Beanstalk. She's looking through her rock photo album. There's a poster of Des in the background. Suddenly, there are some really loud noises. Donnie runs around the Commvee and comes out with a colander on his head. Anyways, turns out that not only Cordi, but also Radcliffe (AKA Colonel), are jumping parachutes here. How many times has that been a challenge on The Amazing Race, anyway? They're jumping with their luggage, prompting Cordi to say "I knew I shouldn't have brought the good china..." In another snarky edit, Cordi's parachute covers the picture, and we then see a slightly chipped teacup with tea being poured into it. We're inside the Commvee, where Deb spazzes at finding out that not only has Eliza run away from Beatrice's, the chimp was spotted in London. Enough about that tho, since the grandparents don't want Britdad and CameraMom to know that they're here. So the parents are on the radio, and Deb says there are really cute bush babies. Britdad points out the non-existent sarcasm in that statement to CameraMom. Hilarious... right? Next morning. Another market. Music by Mr. Boombastic himself Shaggy. Eliza strikes a deal with a cow to ride in the wagon he's pulling. They're riding... with chickens. At the Commvee, Deb is dragging out a shark cage to put the Wild Thing into, when Donnie suddenly sees E&D and shoves Spazz out of the way. Deb tells Eliza about the parents leaving to see the eclipse, which isn't until tomorrow. Eliza decides to radio her parents. Deb advises her not to look inside the Commvee... Eliza peeps inside the Commvee, and she's surprised to see the grandparents back here: "They're here to send you back to boarding school... not like you deserve it." Deb calls her a "freakin' homing pigeon" (can you say that on Nick?), on returning to the Commvee. I would have liked to hear Eliza say something like, "You don't like this place but I do" (especially when Spazz calls the Commvee "a rolling jail cell"), but she's too busy copying info from Britdad's conveniently-placed computer (which is on a conveniently-placed table!) about the upcoming eclipse as Deb snarks, "You totally wrecked any chance of me ever getting out of here... I'm not gonna slowdance with a purple-butt baboon at my prom!" I don't understand where she's coming from on the first bit, but the other bit was really funny. Anyways, Eliza sez, "I'm going to find Tally, and you're not going to stop me!" and leaves. Spazz gives chase, trips and finds herself locked in the shark cage. Eliza tells Deb to "take it up with the warden", as Donnie takes the keys and puts them on a termite nest. Forcing Debbie to knock over the cage to pick up the keys. "EW!" Back inside the Commvee, Radcliffe hears noises and yells, "Cordi, it's the Blitz!" Yeah, I get it, he's nostalgic for the wonderful war years. Anyways, it's not the Blitz, it's Spazz revving up the Congo-Comm and taking it out for a spin. Donnie has run off as well. Spazz jumps straight across a stream, and sez, "If I weren't so mad this would totally rock." And if you weren't actually off the bike, this would totally rock ;) as she suddenly finds herself off the bike after driving through some bush. |
