This poem-writing thing is quite catching on to me. So let me redo Susie Sings The Blues (an ep of All Grown Up!) as a poem (and I even work in some quotes, too): The premiere of "All Grown Up!" Was quite some major news. Here's what went down In "Susie Sings The Blues": Susie was singing the anthem Of the US, at the Wombat Hall Where she met this lady Who was apparently enthralled Her name was Beverly Jones, She was a talent scout. Susie seemed to be starbound, without any sign of doubt. Meanwhile, Tommy and Chuckie Were talking, over lunch, About life on the edge, Being like the wild bunch. Finster was complaining That his life was just too plain. He felt that taking risks with Tommy Would give him a lot to gain. Later on at the Java Lava Betty and Chazz were in quite a spot To stay afloat, they really needed Some customers, nay, quite a lot. They decided, on Angelica's advice, To put on a talent night. But were they thinking like Angelica? Well... not exactly quite. She wanted herself as opener, For their little talent show. The grown-ups were, however, thinking Susie was the way to go. At the Carmichael house, The parents weren't so sure That taking the pop star route Was the right one for her. They wanted her to devote The years to education Instead of making singing A part-time occupation. While she was talking about stardom With Kimi, Phil and Lil, Angelica came along With her backup, Harold and Dil. The twins were her backup too, As if those two weren't enough, But Kimi told spunky Susie That she had the stuff. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Pangborn became quite the crank When he became a victim Of Finster's little prank. Involving basketball shoes, Glued onto the ceiling. While Chuckie was quite cocky, Tommy had some ill feeling. Over a poster of Emica, Susie had a dream Of being in the limelight And her name being screamed. So snapping back to the real world She used the school pay phone To call the talent scout Yes, Ms. Beverly Jones. Auditioning at the Wombat Hall, Susie decided to give it a whirl Especially when she heard that Bev had reps with "Pouty Girl". But first Beverly said that For Susie's career to go She needed a thousand dollars, And Susie had to get that dough. Later on, Pangborn was attacked By a bunch of ice cream, Another Finster prank To increase his self-esteem. Susie talked with Kimi On where to find the cash, And they realised Susie's sister Had a little stashed. Alisa was saving for a house For her and her hubby Ty. She lent some to her little sis After Susie explained why. In the school copying room Finster was copying his butt When the vice principal came in And nabbed the red-headed nut. And Susie gave the talent scout One grand, no more, no less And was given a slip of paper With a time and an address. In the vice prinicipal's office, Chuckie was putting up a fuss. He was asking for serious punishment, Saying: "Please don't go easy on us!" Yes, Finster wanted a leglock, A bodyslam, or at least detention. Instead, Pangborn's poetry talent Came to their attention. Tommy was indeed quite impressed And booked him for talent night. Meanwhile, way downtown, Things weren't going quite right. No studio there, apparently, Susie had totally been done wrong. She sat on a nearby bench Until Kimi came along. She said Susie still had talent, But was replied right there and then: "I'm not singing tonight! Maybe not ever again!" But hold your horses though, 'Cause we're not done just yet. We have a few scenes to go. There is no need to fret. Over at Alisa's After the whole deal went bust Alisa handed her little sis A quick lesson on overtrust The moral was delivered In a way that couldn't be doubted: "She could have taken it further Than she did. Think about it!" After that little moral Had somewhat soothed Susie's strife, "Now you can get on with The important things in life." But singing was important to her, And that is what she knew, She said: "It's who I am. It's what I want. And still do." Over at the Java Lava, And their little talent night, Slambang and Chazz's acts Were totally not right. And despite all of her rehearsals, Angelica came out stone cold, And to paraphrase her song, She needed to be put on hold. Yes, all the talent they had lined up Was nothing short of rotten, But when Susie came along, All the bad taste was forgotten. Meanwhile all the punishment Pangborn gave, mind you, Was for Tommy and Chuckie To chisel off dry glue. Finster wasn't done with danger, Nope, his wild side hadn't died, His next thing: Walking right to Marci And say to her: "Hi." And as Susie was singing about her dreams In spite of all her plight, That's where the show ended, So to everyone: Good night!
