New Page: Rusty has actually gotten some national press over the last week or so. ESPN quoted him in two features on the Rangers, the preview and the ARod fallout. You can find Rusty's quotes here.
Latest update: Over the weekend, Rusty agreed to a three-year contract extension worth at least $21.8 million. With incentives, Rusty could earn as much as $29 million. The extension is for the years 2002-2004, and if the Rangers exercise an option for 2005, he could earn $36 million over the four years. Of the contract, Rusty could only say "the biggest thing is to stay in a Texas Rangers uniform," according to The Boston Globe.
Last update: Here is my picture with Rusty from the middle of August. Obviously, I finally am putting a picture of myself on the web!
My Jaret Wright shrine has moved here because I felt my split personalities as a baseball fan deserved separate pages.
One of my favorite passages in the entire world:
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone."
-- A. Bartlett Giamatti, the late commissioner, on baseball.
Thought of the day: To those who sign my guestbook with references to Arlington-area landmarks: I've been to Texas three times in my entire life. I've been to the Dallas area twice, and the first time I was seven years old and hated baseball. Therefore, if you mention something in Grapevine, Dallas (besides Deep Ellum, where I think I've been, and the JFK museum) or even Arlington, I am most likely beyond clueless as to what you're talking about! Thank you, the webmaster.
What happened with this page was that I lost my Geocities password and I couldn't update the page without the password. Sorry, y'all.
Disclaimer: I am not associated with Greer or the Rangers, and I have been a fan since 17 days after his major league debut (or something like that), and I LIVE IN CONNECTICUT!
