Main Street U.S.A is the first land you will encounter when you enter the Magic Kingdom. While there are no rides, there is a variety of shops and things to see, from quaint stores to entertaining street performers. There's even an old fashioned barbershop complete with a barbershop quartet. Here is a list of Main Street atrractions :

MAIN STREET CINEMA : On a hot, Florida afternoon when everyone else is waiting in line for Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean, the Main Street cinema is an excellent sanctuary from the sweltering heat. The small theatre is air conditioned and shows Mickey's Big Break, a ten minute film which shows how Mickey was chose for his first starring role. While there are no seats, the cinema is an excellent place to relax. Also, there is never any line whatsoever. Fun Fact : Mickey was originally planned to be named Mortimer, but Mrs. Disney convinced Walt to make the change.

WALT DISNEY WORLD RAILROAD : The WDW Railroad is a great intro to the layout of the Magic Kingdom. The 21 minute voyage is a must for first time visitors and railroad buffs. The 1 1/2 mile journey winds around Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Toontown Fair, and Tomorrowland. Besides the station on Main Street, the train stops in Frontierland and the Toontown Fair. Fun Fact : The 1928 steam engine is exactly the same age as Mickey Mouse.

MAIN STREET VEHICLES : The Main Street vehicles consisit of horseless buggies, jitneys, fire engines, and horse-drawn trollies, which travel the length of Main Street everyday. Fun Fact : The horses are shod with plastic.
