About Me

I am 44 years old, a perpetual (some might say chronic) graduate student, a teacher, an editor, a writer, a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a soon-to-be grandmother.
I live in Zachary, La. I'm in the process of revising this website, which hasn't been updated in seven years. Mainly, I'm back here writing again to set up a place for my students to find notes, assignments, and news about CHS in Baton Rouge.
I have returned to teaching from a 10 year career as a newspaper editor. I've worked as regional editor of The Times-Record News in Wichita Falls, Tx, the city editor of The Daily Iberian newspaper in New Iberia, La., and the managing editor of The Abbeville Meridional in Abbeville, La. Here is a photo of me from the mid 90s while I was at work in Abbeville.

Through my work as both an educator and an editor I have learned that A&E's Biography is correct: "Every life has a story." Listening to those stories -- and writing them down myself or helping others learn to write them -- has become much more than just a career. These activities have become the supreme joys of my life.
So, welcome to my little space on the Internet. I hope you enjoy what you find here.
