SAFETY and HEALTH AUDITS

ELM Tree Enterprises Consultants will conduct a complete audit of your company's Safety and Health Environment.

ACCIDENT / INCIDENTS INVESTIGATIONS

ELM Tree Enterprises will conduct a compete investigation of any and all accidents, incidents and/or "near miss" to find the causes and make recommendations to correct the causes and prevent reoccurrence. A complete and detailed report of all findings and recommendations. We investigate to find causes - not to place blame.



TRAINING CLASSES

Safety and Health Training classes tailored to your company's needs.

* Trainers are authorized to conduct 10- and 30- hour General Industry and Construction OSHA Outreach training in accordance with the guidelines provided by the OSHA Training Institute.


SCAFFOLDING: OSHA's 29 CFR 1926.454 Training Requirments. This section supplements and clarifies the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2) as these relate to the hazards of work on scaffolds. 29 CFR 1926.454(a) The employer shall have each employee who preforms work while on scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazard associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize these hazards.

HAZARD COMMUNICATIONS: OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.1200 requires initial training upon employment and anytime there is a change of chemicals in the workplace. This class will cover all the requirements of the OSHA Standards and those required by company policies and programs. Prior to this class a copy of the Company Hazard Communication Program will be requested so the class can cover all of the chemicals in the workplace.

BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS: OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.1030 requires training for those employees that may come into contact with "body fluids" in the performance of their job. The class will focus on Hepatitis B (HBV) and Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV) which are the two most commonly know pathogens. Hepatitis B is a liver disease that 4,000 to 5,000 people in the U.S. die from each year.

FORKLIFT SAFETY: OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.178 requires training for operators of "Powered Industrial Trucks" (forklifts). The class will focus on the Safe Operation and daily inspections of the forklift. The class consist of two videos, lecture and a 40 question quiz. A daily checklist for the operator and an operational checklist given to the supervisor to use to ensure that the operator knows how to operate the forklift.

LOCKOUT/TAGOUT: OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.147 requires that each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control; Each affected employee shall be instructed in the purpose and use of the energy control procedure and All other employees whose work operations are or may be in an area where energy control procedures may be utilized, shall be instructed about the procedure, and about the prohibition relating to attempts to restart or re-energize machines or equipment which are locked out or tagged out.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.134 requires that each employee be trained in the proper use, care, and storage of Respiratory devices. And that each employee use the respirator in accordance with the training given.

VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE: On any given day, newspapers are filled with stories of disgruntled employees taking out their frustration and anger at work, often with deadly results. Workplace violence also includes verbal outbursts and can happen in the form of: Threats Harassment Abuse Intimidation Verbal forms of violence often signal more serious violence to come. This class will teach how to identify different types of violence, their causes, how you can protect yourself and your co-workers, and why reporting workplace violence is extremely important.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.132 requires that; The employer shall provide training to each employee who is required to use Personal Protective Equipment. This class will cover the different types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in your type of Industry and will be tailored to your company's needs and requirements.

HAZWOPER (8hrs refresher): OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.120 requires annual refresher training for those employees that have completed the initial training.

SAFETY COMMITTEE: A class to assist the in the performance of an effective Safety Committee. An outline of the duties of a Safety Committee, a committee should not run the safety program but assist the Safety Coordinator in the implementation of organizations Safety and Health Management System and to advise top management on safety and health issues within the organization.

SUPERVISOR SAFETY: This class, although not required by OSHA, is a class that all Supervisors and Middle Managers should attended. The class consist of the supervisor's Safety and Health Responsibilities.

SUPERVISOR SAFETY

PRO-ACTIVE SAFETY: A human behavior safety class. The Accident- it won't happen to me! attitudes about safety and health in the workplace. A class for all employers and employees. Behavior Based Safety is a way to assist in the changing of attitudes.

BACK SAFETY: A class in the proper way to lift, carry, and set down a material to prevent back injuries, on the leading causes of injuries in the workplace resulting in Lost Work Days.

LEAKS and SPILLS: The responsibilities of all workers that find a leak or a spill in the workplace.

CONFINED SPACE ENTRY:OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Space or just a space that meets the definition of a confined space, employees should be trained in the proper entry procedures. This class covers all Confined Spaces and the precautions needed to be taken when entering these spaces.

MOBILE CRANE SAFETY:OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.180, 29 CFR 1910.184, OSHA's 29 CFR 1926.550, and ANSI B30.5 - All deal with Mobile Cranes. ELM Tree Enterprises is Certified to Train New Operators and give Refresher Training to Operators. Training will consist of Classroom and Hands-on Training to assure that the Operator is able to operate the type of crane assigned.

1ST AID AND CPR: OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.151(b) - "In the absnce of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid..." ELM Tree Enterprises has First Aid and CPR Instructors trained by the National Safety Council.

A complete written Safety and Health Management System, consisting of all OSHA required programs. These programs will be tailored to your Company.


SAFETY and Health "TOOLBOX TALKS"

"TOOLBOX TALKS" are short, approximately 5 minutes long, that can be given, by Supervisors, Foremen, Team Leaders, or an employee, at the weekly Safety Meeting, first thing on Monday morning to get the week started on a Safety and Health Note.
