Cedars Of Lebanon.
The Cedars of Lebanon are found in the Bsharri region of north
Lebanon. In ancient times, the rocky slopes were covered with the famed cedars of Lebanon.
Now there are about 400 trees left, and many between 1200 and 2000 years old. They stand
on slopes 2000 meters (6,560 ft) high in the shadow of the 3000 meters (9,840 ft) peak of
Qurnat as Sawda. The cedar tree is the country national symbol and it is centered on the
Lebanese flag.
