    LCdr. Torlen looked left, then right. The enemy suits were surrounding him. They looked like nothing more than upgraded Monsoons, but a Monsoon could handle itself in a fight if it was outfitted with the right type of weaponry. These appeared to be armed with some kind of slug-firing cannon. He lashed out quickly with his twinned beam sabres and the two machines flashed to vapor and vanished from sight.
