The volunteers at Save Our Strays rescue cats and kittens found living abandoned or orphaned. We specialize in rescuing tiny kittens who have been orphaned and would be euthanized elsewhere.
When the kitty is first rescued, he or she will receive a full physical at one of our local veterinarians. If she is well enough, kitty receives her vaccinations and any medical attention necessary. She is also tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline AIDS (FIV). If the kitty is at least four months old, and is well enough, he/she is spayed or neutered.
Save Our Strays Rescue then places kitty in a loving foster home where she will live until she is well enough and old enough to be adopted. Save Our Strays Rescue pays for all medical care of the foster cat and the foster "parents" provide lots of TLC. Foster homes are the lifeblood of our organization and also the most difficult volunteer help to find.
