It was after the death of Charlie, and then Garfield, who had been with the family for over 10 years that we, actually my parents, welcomed first Chopsticks, then Kumo and Gohan.

We've had this tradition since the dawn of time, that a member of the family gets to name the pets.

Mom got the name the dog... A female pekingese that thinks it's a boy, and tries to bully the cats.

I got to name of the cats, and while living overseas in Asia, I named it Gohan which means rice in Japanese.

I guess the family got in the Japanese spirit and named the second cat, Kumo, meaning Spider.

I remember the first time meeting the cats... In the downstairs bathroom, there are two sinks. Guess they can now be called two cat beds. It was quite a sight to see two cats lying in a ball, all curled up in the bathroom sink.

But if they didn't have quirks, they wouldn't be Price pets...
