Scriptio International Literary and Performing Arts Competition

Scriptio International's North American/Canadian Writing & Poetry Competition is now open for submissions!

Contest originally ended April 15, 1997 however, we have extended the deadline due to the huge flood of last minute entrys, and Scriptio International, a non-profit organization hopes to give away prizes ranging from $1,000.00 to $100.00 in cash, submission of selected winning writers manuscripts to at least 5 major publishing houses in New York and abroad, a myriad of subscriptions to Literary and Writing Publications to runner up and prize place winners, production/readings of top winning plays, submission of top screenplays to Los Angeles production companys, and much more!

No submissions will be accepted without our official application form!

Attention! If you are entering the Scriptio International Competition from OUTSIDE North America, please note that ONE International Reply Coupon for SASE postage is NOT enough! Entrants from Australia should enclose 3/4 as only one international IRC coupon when validated by the United States Post Office amounts to only .60 cents US. Postage from the United States to Australia is $1.90 for guidelines and official entry form, Postage to England/UK is $1.35, New Zealand is $2.30, Europe is $2.25 etc. If you would like to enter, but reside in a country NOT listed for rates, please email us for more information. If you overpost, we will gladly return your IRC coupons with your entry information! Thank you!

Scriptio International, a non-profit organization also regrets that we are unable to accept ANY electronic submissions. Please do NOT submit diskettes, emailed poetry, attachment files of manuscripts or screenplays. They will not be considered nor will they be judged. Due to the infancy of the internet copyright laws we ask that all writers wishing to submit please follow this rule. We only accept physical submissions sent via Canadian or United States Post Office, or other international carriers.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING CONTEST CATAGORIES

Due to certain prizes being donated to Scriptio International from various theater groups donating tickets as prizes to our competition, certain catagories will have to be judged earlier than the previous deadline given so we may be able to give away season theater tickets in the United States and Canada for First and Second Run Stage Plays that are or will currently be in production this summer and for their regular seasons. IF you are submitting plays for the competition, please email us for further details.
