Graphics: 10/10

All of the backgrounds are pre-rendered beautifully, but it clashes with the majorly polygonal characters. The backgrounds are nicely detailed with an occasional animation (eg. the balloons in the Gold Saucer Tram Dock). The characters, however are really blocky, but only in the field screens. The characters are more smoothed out during battles. The summon spells are well presented and are quite amazing when you see it for the first time. And the last piece of graphic to be judged are the FMVs. What can be said about them, except that they all flawlessly depict smooth, fluid, detailed, and exciting cg graphics. You'll get spooked when the monster in the Mt. Nibel reactor jump out, amazed as you are taken up into a birds-eye view of Midgar in the intro, and stare in awe as Sephiroth ruthlessly skewers Aeris with the Masamune. The only other FMV that I've seen that have matched up with these FMVs is the intro of Soulblade, and perhaps the intro of Tekken 2 and 3 as well.

Control: 10/10

If you're familiar with the controls of the previous FF titles, then controlling FF7 is a breeze. Newcomers might take some time to recognize the controls, but they can always be changed in the configuration screen.

Sound: 10/10

The music is obviously the best so far out of all the other games. The game is filled with all kinds of music, from the sad Aeris theme, to the energetic Chocobo theme, and to the frightening Sephiroth theme. The sound itself is also above average, with a sword-slash here, and a gunshot there. The missing of voices, however, is quite dissapointing, mainly in the FMVs, where they would've been such a great addition to spice them up.

Gameplay: 10/10

What can I say?? Except maybe this is the greatest RPG of all time, and that no PSXer should be without??? With superb graphics, wonderful music, and a compelling story, Final Fantasy 7 is a legend in its own time.
