Dark Magic
by Shadowdance

My Dark One calls me, I must go
His wish is my command
Wherever he leads me, I will follow
I gladly take his hand.

Into the mists we go today
Where we have gone before
His castle looms before us now
His mind opens up the door.

Inside the laughter is heard above
And moans heard deep below
The library reveals why we have come
On me magic he wishes to bestow.

Alchemic equations, and complex rites
Proceed on into the night
Though fatigued and cold, my mind takes hold
From my fingertips, hearth fire ignites.

My Dark One is pleased, and wants me to see
Where others have failed his test
The dungeons below reveal those poor souls
Driven mad and into unrest.

He leads me now into his chambers
Where food and wine are present
He beckons me eat, and then lie down
When sleep comes, I don't resent it.

Then I awaken back in my room
I'm home, I can't quite fathom it
Last nights adventures must have been a dream
Then I scent smoke and think, or was it?
