Dark Mate

My Dark One grabs me by the horn
Oh will I never listen
He came upon me light, unheard
My coat now bristled, glistens.

No harm to me does he intend
For he is my protection
From evil men who hunt me down
He only teaches me a lesson.

I am the last of my kind
Was sad till his proclamation
He has been my mate of late
Through his power of transformation.

Now I bear a foal, our son
In a few days he will be born
I have my Dark One to thank for this
I am no longer the last Unicorn.
