Long Live the King

by Shadowdance

Once upon a midnight rare
Came a maid upon me there
With golden eyes and flaxen hair
A story she did tell.

Of princely manors down the way
And changes that occurred that day
And so she would not have to pay
Did run away from there.

Doest seem some horsemen came to town
Seeking to overthrow the crown
Upon their faces wore they frowns
No mercy did they spare.

Rape and pillage, all in their might
The villagers, they did try to fight
And some like her even took flight
But most were killed asunder.

So enfold this maid within my arms
And try to calm all her alarms
She offered me, up her charms
And gently did I take her.

On the morrow I did volunteer
My services and army here
And good-hearted did I appear
To this lovely little maid.

Into town we rode straightaway
My army there didst make way
For I am to be crowned King today
It seems we won the battle.

Horror on the little maids face
As she tries to escape my embrace
Guess I'll have to teach her, her place
For now she is my concubine.
