Time waits

by Shadowdance

Time gingerly waits, for
no one, out waits time.
Rush into her eternal embrace
or become immortal, laugh in her face.

What kind of noble pursuit is this?
or moreso for the shear magnitude
Achieved? Time stands before you
a faithful lover, laughing.

As time drags on she sings
songs for her lovers pleasure.
Then beats he against her brow.
Why have you done this to me?

But you see, you have not
cheated time. She takes you,
loves you, and now you
would give her up for death?

Death gingerly waits, for
no one, out waits death
She laughs in time's face
and takes to her breast
a new lover.
