If we were to ask Boppers to describe their perfect guy-or girl- they'd probably whip out a list of crush worthy qualifications. After all, who doesn't have a picture of the perfect mate in mind? Well, when BOP recently hung out with the Florda-based Backstreet Boys----The quintet behind "we've got it goin on"and "Quit Playin Games With My Heart" from their 1996 self-titled album, we found out what it taked for Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson and Howard dorough to go totally gaga over a girl. For Howie, it's all about the girl's vibe. He prefers hanging out with a positive patty rather then a negative nellie."My idea of a perfect girl," the 23-year-old says "is someone who is always looking at things in a positive way, not a negative way, and knows what she wants in life and knows how to go about getting it". Aj stresses, "I'm not a picky kind of guy, really," explains that his ideal girl " Just has to be well rounded, have a big heart and a good sence of humor". But this doesn't mean he is looking for a girl that is all laughs and giggles. "She has to have a serious side," the 19-year-old says. In other words, he elaborates, "just someone you can be youself around and not have to be something your not." Alright boys, all this stuff sounds good. But what about looks? You would think that with an infinite female fan base to choose from, the Backstreet Boys would go for the perfect, Barbie-looking type. Right? Wrong. Looks are not a top priority, at least not for Nick. "There are models that i think are fine," the 17-year-old cuttie admits. But what he wants, he says, is"somebody who has a good heart...and a great personality".Take notes girls!!! It gets better. "I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE A FAMILY" As for brian, the doorway through B-Rok's heart is through the eyes. "What i look for in a girl is her eyes", the 22-year-old reveals. "Eyes are very appealing to me. I don't really have a specific (perfect girl ideal). I like redehards blondes and brunettes, somebody who is interested in a career for themselves and in other goals in life and someone who can treat me like a normal person". There is only one problem for these soul-mate seeking babes: With their ultra bust shedule, the Backstreet Boys are never in one place long enough to get serious about one girl. "Right now it is virtually impossible", Kevin explains. But even if it is hard to meet that special someone right now, the 24-year old says he "definatly" plans to fall in love and tie the know in the future. "I want a family", he says "I love kids. I can't wait to have a family." There you have it. Despite their huge popularity, the Backstreet Boys aren't looking for Wonder Woman for a girlfriend. They simply want to find someone positive to hang out with,a girl who had goals for themselves and who will love them for who they are. Any takers?????

Please note that world renowned stardom does not excuse the talented, cute and popular from finding themselves turning into big, red tomato faces now and then. Take it from the Backstreet Boys--being in the publis eye so often, these guys are actually used to being put in embarrassing situations. However, that still doesn't prepare the Orlando, Florida-based five, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough--for when those trip-ups pop up!!. Brian can certainly vouch for that: One time this Backstreet Boy was caught with his pants down, literally! This sticky sitch happened during an outdoor concert when Brian was performing a song in a pair of overalls, which he wore unhooked and cinched around his waist was a belt. The belt somehow came loose and well, you get the idea!"I remember seeing the girls faces,"the 23-year-old recalls, "and they were looking and pointing at me like this is wonderful." For Kevin,26,his time to blush came onstage, too, but his pants didn't fall down--he fell down!. "I slipped on water and landed right on my butt right infront of everybody during the opening song of a show," Kevin grimacingly tells BB. And for Nick, it was catching his shoes in some stairs on the stage, forcing him to fly out of them, that left this blonde boy in a pickle."That was embarrassing," Nick, 18, says of his on stage slip up. Embarrassing situations follow the Backstreet Boys offstage too. One of these situations definatly caught AJ by suprise--or perhaps it's better to say it caught his date right between the eyes! Upon trying to impress a girl one evening, AJ tried to remove the cork froma bottle of sparkling juice they were about to share, only to aim it directly to her face! "It hit her so hard," the 20-year-old singer lament,"and the rest of the night i was just apologizing". Last but not least, lets not forget about Howie Dorough, even though he's been known to forget what he's in the middle of asying. Take, for example, the time he was performing the national; anthem for his high school when he suddenly became panic-stricken. "For some reason, I registered a wrong note in my head and i sang down a couple of lower noted then usual," Howie 24, explains to BB. "So i tried to harmonize, and by doing that i totally lost my concentration of what i was saying. I was looking over at all the pretty cheerleadres and they were all giggling." So the next time you find yourself in an embarrassing predicament, just remember, your not the only one!

Brian Littrell started singing while he was younger in public school. His first performance was in the church choir. He was six years of age. Family life is very important to Brian, and he says he wants many children. He frequently gets homesick while on tour, and the rest of the band believe he will be the first one to tie the knot. He is also very old-fasioned and he loves to shower his family with lavish gifts. He recently bought his mother a grand piano and his brother a new car. Although he is quite the ladies man, Has high moral values. His first instinct is to look for girls who are " very goal oriented." He has also said that long hair ans sparkling eyes are an inspiration for his attraction. He hatesit when girls wear excessive make-up and says, " Outward beauty disappears, while internal beauty stays." Brian is a modest, normal man. He is somewhat religious and feels that strong morals not only help you to have faith, but make life decisions. He never leaves home without his crucifix, and frequently reads fromt he bible. He has some secret phobias, too. He fears about falling and fear of high places. Before he gets on a plane he kisses his fist and then taps it to the inside of the jet. He often dreams about being up onstage and forgetting the words to a song ! If he wasn't a Backstreet Boy? Brian says he would like to go to college in Ohio and major in Music Studies. He originally wanted to be a music teacher. Brian has also shown " natural abilities" with several instruments. If he could, Brian would personally thank each and every one of his fans. Even though he considers himself shy, Brian extremely well adjusted and takes to fame very easliy. His motto is " Always be yourself and don't put up a front." Brian thinks romantic relationships shoudl take as long as possible. Always the incurable romantic, Brian loves to serenade his female friends and buy them flowers. His idea of a perfect romantic evening would be a candlelit dinner and a cuddle by the fireplace. Brian believes people are made, not born. In other words he believes people make their own fate, their own dreams come alive. He believes to have faith in oneself and their accomplishments is among lifes greatest achievements.
Kevin: I'm an honest person. I don't play games and I treat people with respect.I think I have a lot to offer a girl. I'm the kind-of guy that could use a huge everyday, but I'm not likely to get it.
Nick: Yeah, I know what you mean. I get a lot of hugs from fans and the guys, but I don't get a hug everyday. I wish I did! I would offer a girl myself alone since I'm a vert ordinary and down-to-earth individual.
AJ: Yeah, right! Me? I love hugs whenever I can get them, for me they are even better the kisses.
Brian: I agree. When you hug someone it really gives them an alternate support system. It shows them that they can have someone to depend on. It's a lot like having faith.
Kevin: It's tough though, I think it's hard because we're travelling os much--- it's hard to tell if people are really friends or not.
Nick: I agree, but I meet a lot of girls when I'm travelling and I do make friends with some of them. I call them up on the phone !
AJ: Yeah, we know ! I've got a lot of close girl friends-- In fact I've got more girl friends then guy friends. I get along cool with guys, but their usually into that whole sports thing. I'd rather be out shopping for clothing!
Nick: We need girls who are crazy enought to but up with our schedule.
Kevin: And wouldn't mind eating deli food backstage all the time !
Howie: I just have these guys. They're like a large family I have at home. Tons of laughs and goofing around. I never think of them as " my job." I try to keep everyone together. Touring is rough business. It's harder than it seems.
Brian: thats true. We try to keep thinking on the bright side. Plenty of laughs are good for the soul. I'm also the peacemaker. I'm always saying " Hey guys, stop fighting. Lets make peace."
Nick: Yeah, Brian and I are the eternal pranxters. We really try to leep everyone's spirits a float.
Howie: Music was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Brian: It's proof that if you set your mind to do something, then you can make that something a reality.
Kevin: Thanks to all our fans for thier sontinued support! See you all this summer in the stadiums!
AJ: Keep the backstreet pride alive!
