Hair Dressing Shears are delicate instruments and should only be used for hair. Cutting anything else with your shears will dull and possibly damage the extra fine edge. To properly sharpen most shears, they should be taken apart in order to clean, examine and maintain exact angles.
At Alpha we specialize in Japanese shears which are usually hollow ground. This process gives the shear an extremely sharp edge and should be hand honed.
