Chapter2:

Prologue:
Our story takes place in a time where technology does not exist. It is a time of castles,
sword fights, and beings of special powers are known as wizards or magicians. The wizards of
rich and powerful houses rule the realm. The main force in the realm is the Empire of the Dawn.
But there is also a smaller empire known as the Black Hellfire Empire. The individuals composing
these empires are all rulers of their own kingdoms. They are also all wizards of varying powers.
The Empire of the Dawn rules the earth, with the Black Hellfire Empire’s allegiance having been
pledged to theirs many centuries ago. But things do not last forever my friends....
The main characters of our story will be of the Black Hellfire Empire. The names and
descriptions of the more powerful members of the Empire are as follows:
Clarion: He is the Black King of the Hellfire Empire. Physically he can be described as
tall, and dark. He has blonde hair and brown eyes, with his eyes giving him a brooding look that
many women find irresistible. He isn’t incredibly strong or muscular, but their is an air of power
surrounding him that makes other wizards respect him. His magical powers allow him to take
pollutants from the air and transform them into kinetic energy he can use offensively in the form
of blasts or magical weapons. He has been classified as a womanizer.
Nemesis: She is the Black Queen and a dangerous woman. She has dark hair and eyes,
that along with the angular shape of her face and the sleek body she possesses give her an exotic
look. She is habitually seen carrying around a 2´8. Her magical talents alloy her to wreak havoc
where ever she may be. She is a sarcastic and fun loving person, very committed to her cause.
Silver: The Black Bishop. He is a tall man, with red hair and blue eyes. He is an
amazing artist as well. In fact his magical power is to make his drawings come to life. He has an
easy going and fun loving personality that usually keeps him out of trouble.
Blink*: She is the Black Princess. She has brown eyes with golden flecks. Her hair is a
very light brown and she usually leaves it flowing loosely over her shoulders. She is of average
height. One of her special skills is her blade or whip usage. She is very adept with both weapons.
Her magical power is teleportation and the ability to make wishes reality, although the latter
comes at a steep price. She is caring and kind, but a fierce warriors heart beats within her. She
once sustained a relationship with Darque Foenix, of The Empire of the Dawn. Her termination of
the relationship has affected her severely, although none are certain of the extent of those effects.
Havok: The Black Knight. He is a tall male with icy blue eyes. He has attractive broad
shoulders and a blond goatee. He is one of the fiercest fighters in the Hellfire Empire when
provoked. His magical talents allow him to fire bioelectric blasts and also bestowed him with
claws. He is a caring man, playing older brother to the members of the Empire who are not as
high up on the power chain as he.
SuperGrover!!!: He is the Black Rook and one of the most unusual members of the
Empire. He has blue fur for skin, that contrasts his blond hair. He has blue eyes that turn yellow
when he invokes his magical talents. Those talents include the ability to fly, limited invulnerability,
super strength and invisibility to mind magic’s. He is the member of the Empire with the closest
ties to the Empire of the Dawn.
Rahsas: He is the Black Pawn, but a few days before our story begins he meets an
apparently ‘accidental’ death in the castle on his lands.
[These are the only descriptions of the Black Hellfire Empire that I’ll include here but
many more characters such as Aeka, Siryn, etc. will be taking part in the story]

The members of the Empire of the Dawn you should know about are:
Darque Foenix: He has dirty blond hair and eyes that have a foreboding yellow
glow. Dark circles are usually under his eyes and his face is usually twisted into a cruel smirk. He
has strong mind magic’s and the ability to move things with his thoughts. He emanates an are of
darkness and the lingering promise of sinister motives. Only Blink* knows for sure, but he is
thought to be abusive with his lovers and cruelly torments the objects of his affection. But his
great power as second in command of the Empire of the Dawn ensure that he doesn’t have to deal
with the consequences of his vile acts.
Nytshade: She is an insidious female with brown hair and alluring blue/gray eyes.
She is a mystic, a very powerful and much feared kind of magician. Her mysticism allows her
leech away the life force and powers of other beings as well as some practice in the black arts. She
is a trickster who likes to use men for her own purposes and catches them up in her tangled web.
She possesses a rattle-snake and s said to be the lover of the Emperor of the Dawn.

Other characters: Another character I will mention now is Gomurr because of the changes
I made in the Gomurr you all know.
Gomurr: He is a scant 200 years old. He is still a short man, but he has dark
colored hair. His green eyes are still filled with wisdom, but there is also the recklessness of his
youth(as it were) reflected in them. He is a mystic whose magic’s involve nature. He is also adept
at deciphering prophecies and is the Keeper of the Great Library(it contains the most complete
collection of magic and prophecy books on the planet). He is still his wise-cracking self, but he
now pursues fun as well as wisdom(again the whole reckless youth thing).

That is all the info you will be getting from this prologue, but the tittle pretty much tells you
what to expect from the story, right?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter1: Part1

It was a ballroom scene. They were all gathered together in the elegant ballroom of the Empire
of the Dawn’s grandest castle. All the drapes were of woven gold, shimmering loveliness that was
soft to the touch. The rich wall to wall carpeting showed off the obvious wealth of the Empire.
Everywhere you looked there was another expensive statue, or a table holding finery and rare
items such as the emerald orb on the table nearest to him. The air in the room was scented of
lilacs, the beautiful serving maids were as well. The serving girls wore rich attire, but it wasn’t
flashy enough to distract the attention from the evenings guests. The maids were not only serving
the subjects and power mongers of the Dawn’s Empire, but the members of the Black Hellfire
Empire as well. It was the Empire of which he was emperor, the Black king of his fellow kings
and queens. He was Clarion, the Black King of all those called Hellfire. He was tall, dark, and
brooding. Or at least that was the outward appearance he would give off. He concealed his quick
mind behind that brooding exterior, the mind that made him the Black Hellfire king. His empire
was small in comparison with the Empire of the Dawn. His fellow kings and queens had large
amounts of land and wealth, but nothing could compare to all that the Dawn had amassed. When
they had been conquering this world those of the Dawn had been ruthless, collecting it all for
themselves and the wizards who would join them. It was only his quick mind that allowed him to
form the Black Hellfire Empire and strike the deal that kept the Dawn from crushing them as they
had the rest of the wizard kingdoms. That had been a few centuries ago though... Clarion was not
several centuries old though. An errant spell of powerful magic had snatched him from his body
all those years ago and left him in a limbo. But he escaped, coming to life again as one of his
descendants. He had been in the body of a child, but with his sharp and eager mind ready to learn
of the new time and the changes in the world. The Hellfire Empire had dwindled to a meager 20
or so kingdoms, and the Dawn was abusive and taunting before them. He had taken his time, and
established himself as the Black Hellfire king. He had gotten to know all his new fellow kings and
queens. It was like a fresh start really. A chance to make the world into what he wanted, or so he
had thought. But the Empire of the Dawn was restrictive. They didn’t break the fraying rope of
the alliance, but the flaunted their power before the lesser empire. That had angered Clarion. But
he was smart enough to keep quiet and learn all he could.
One of the things he had learned to like about his situation were the
women. The queens in his empire were all gorgeous and powerful. He glanced around the room
looking for them. The first he saw was his queen, Nemesis. He regretted that the was his queen
only in tittle, for she was a luscious beauty. Her full lips were tempting, and her exotic looks and
cinnamon scent made her almost impossible for him to resist. But she was like him, ambitious,
smart. They both knew that in order to maintain the integrity of the Black Hellfire Empire they
had to remain apart. Otherwise they were both liable to use the other, those sort of power games
were dangerous. Next to catch his eyes was the sensuous Siryn. She was a fiery red-head with
great spirit. She was one of those proud beauty types that had a heart of gold hidden inside. She
also had a fighters heart, and powers that matched her fiery spirit. She could heat up a room really
fast, and not just with her fire magic’s. She was wearing and shimmering lavender dress, that
showed of her wealth and soft complexion. She stood talking to Nem, who wore a sexy black
dress that made her look even more exotic than usual. A flock of wealthy men from the Empire of
the Dawn surrounded them, vying for the attention of the beauties. Puma11 danced with one of
the handsome men. Her blue dress and sapphire earrings really set of her sensuously curled brown
hair. Tangerine was dancing as well. But she danced with Silver, the Black Bishop of the Hellfire
Empire. She laughed as the spun around the dance floor, her red dress lifting just enough for
Clarion to catch a glance at her well formed legs. GlitterGirl stood near her best friend Blink.
Both ladies wore elaborate dresses, with GlitterGirl’s shimmering more than that of any other
woman present. GlitterGirl wore a charming smile and was talking to Blink. Clarion frowned as
he thought of his Empire’s princess. Blink had long had close ties to the Empire of the Dawn. She
had even been the lover of Darque Foenix, that Empire’s most powerful member except for the
emperor himself. But Blink had abruptly ended her relationship with Darque Foenix. She never
gave a reason, but she never really needed to. In fact, Clarion had long wondered why she had
been involved with him at all. He considered Darque Foenix a loathsome man. He took pleasure n
tormenting others and was infinitely cruel. He had left scars on the lovely Blink too. Ever since
she left him she had been quiet and strangely meek. Dark circles seemed to always be under the
lovely girls eyes. n fact, Clarion though he could see those dark shadows beneath her makeup. But
she wouldn’t talk to anyone about Darque Foenix, not even to GlitterGirl. All that they could do
was wait and see if the dark cloud Darque Foenix had left her with would fade.
Clarion scanned the room for Darque Foenix wanting to be aware of where the
trouble maker was at all times. Darque Foenix was always waiting for a chance to hurt the Black
Hellfire Empire and Clarion was determined to stop him. He spotted Darque Foenix by one of the
elaborately draped doorways. He was dressed in black, making the dark circles around his eyes
more obvious. Hs eyes were currently a sickly yellow color and he looked drunk. Not that he
needed to be drunk to cause trouble. He was standing with his arm wrapped around and
uncomfortable ShockWave’s waist. ShockWave wore a hunter green dress that set off her eyes.
Her hair was artfully styled to conceal her green streak. She was a lovely creature too. She had a
smile that could light up a room. She was fiercely loyal and caring. She had such passion as well.
His mind dwelled on her for a few moments. He thought of her delightful imagination, her love
for books. She had become the caretaker for Gomurr’s Great Library because of that love. She
was always eager to please Clarion and the other members of the Inner Circle of the Hellfire
Empire. There was something about the girl that would sometimes fill Clarion with a longing for
her touch. He knew that all he had to do was ask, but for some reason he had never pursued her.
It sometimes seemed as if he knew she was destined for another. He could have any woman he
wanted anyway. He had wanted a great many in his life, and gotten all those he had tried for. He
rarely got serious with the queens of his empire though. He had wanted to many times. But he
knew enough not to mx business with pleasure. Although there was that one fling with the Triad.
The Triad was formed by Aeka, Kiyone, and Ryoko. Together the three ruled one of the largest
lands in his empire. Even though the had that fling, they never really got serious. Each of them
knew it was just fooling around.
But his amorous thoughts of conquests were soon broken. He quickly noticed
that Darque Foenix was gong to far again. He kept whispering something in ShockWave’s ear and
laughing luridly. ShockWave despised Darque Foenix. She hated him for his evil acts and the
shadow he had brought over Blink. But unfortunately for her, she had become the object of
Darque Foenix’s attentions after Blink had broken things off with him. ShockWave endured him
so as to preserve the alliance, but she did have a breaking point. If she ever lost control the weak
rope of the alliance would snap. If she openly or even privately rejected him he had the power to
destroy her kingdom, or even the whole Black Hellfire Empire if he so chose. Both the mystic
Gomurr and Clarion had warned her to be cautious. They all knew how dangerous Darque Foenix
was. She was getting angry now though. Her green eyes were flashing. Darque Foenix played his
fingers around her waist. Clarion knew he had to get her away from him quickly and inoffensively.
He turned and saw the elegantly attired young Psishot watching him, having noticed the situation
as well. Clarion signaled for him to go on over and avert the crisis. Psishot smoothly walked over
asking ShockWave to dance.
Clarion smiled to himself. Another disaster avoided. He knew ShockWave would
be angry over the implication that she couldn’t take care of it herself, but he knew how to sooth
her anger. He knew she could handle herself, but he also knew that the way she would handle it
could mean disaster. He was constantly reminding her of that recently. Suddenly the approaching
figure of Nytshade approached. She was one of the top powers in the Empire of the Dawn, and a
dazzlingly attractive woman. She wore a low cut silk gown that clung to her curves like a second
skin. She had always been bent on seducing him. She wanted him because she was attracted to
power. He had taken her as a lover because she was good at bringing pleasure. He knew he
couldn’t trust her though. With her, everything was an elaborate game of cat and mouse. But she
was useful. Sometimes Clarion could get information out of her. “Hello darling,” she cooed in his
ear. “Hello Nytshade. You look like your ravishing self this evening.” She smiled. “Why thank
you Clarion. But truth to tell I’m bored with this party. How about you and go have some fun...”
He smiled. “How can I resist such a tempting offer?” he said with a charming smile. He would be
with her tonight, but tomorrow he would put his carefully laid plans in motion.......

Chapter1: Part2

Gomurr looked around at his fellow members of the Black Hellfire Empire. Almost all
were present. From the Inner Circle of power only the recently deceased Rahsas was missing.
Gomurr and Tangerine were given the tittles of mages and were in charge of teaching the other
members how to use their talents. She was present, sitting beside him with her magically animated
sock puppets at her feet. Other than the Inner Circle and the mages these were the people present:
Psishot, GlitterGirl, Aeka, Ryoko, Kiyone, Skippy, Avalon, Havoc1, Deadpool, Siryn, Puma11,
and Bastion. Only one person was missing, ShockWave. She had requested staying in the Great
Library to catch up on her work. Gomurr had reluctantly agreed, and used his magic so that she
could see and hear all that went on through the mystic pool in the center of the Library. Gomurr
was the only one besides Nemesis who knew what Clarion would say at the meeting. All that the
others had been told was that t was important. Gomurr knew that secrecy would be very
important, but not only that, for Clarion wanted to make this into some sort of test. Gomurr
stroked his goatee, fingering the dark hair and wondering the wisdom of such a tactic. Clarion
stood tall in the center of the room, preparing to speak. Clarion looked poised and calm. His eyes
held a deep brooding look that Gomurr had often tried to interpret. “Fellow kings and queens,” he
spoke at last. Gomurr ran a final magic test to ensure that no unfriendly ears were listening in.
None. “I have called all of you together to discuss a matter of utmost importance. It is one that
has been bothering us all in one form or another recently.” He paused to look everyone in the eye.
“We have all suffered under our allegiance to the Empire of the Dawn recently. They have greatly
taxed us and made demands of us that they would not of their own.” Quite a few people nodded.
“But there is nothing we can do about it,” said SuperGrover!!!. “There is something, and we will
do it. Now is the time for us to fight for our rights!” “You can’t mean war!” said SuperGrover!!!
incredulously. “We have no hope of victory!” he added. “War is exactly what I mean. We can not
let members of that Empire get away with the abuses they have brought against us recently.
Darque Foenix over taxes us, slowly steals our lands, taunts us and scars our membership.”
Everyone one glanced briefly at Blink* who huddled in the shadowy corner. She frowned angrily
at Clarion. “Foenix is rude and grotesque with all our ladies! He mocks our kings with cruel jeers
and hidden accusations.” “But all these things are normal under such an alliance. We have put up
with them for years,” said Aeka diplomatically. “But it is time for us to put a stop to such abuse.
In the death of Rahsas they have gone too far.” “What?!” exclaimed Tangerine, surprised. “You
take those silly rumors as truth? Clarion, we can’t act on rumors!” “I have proof!” Suddenly
everyone was silent. “Psishot found Darque Foenix’s magic imprint in Rahsas’ mind. He placed it
there to taunt us.” Psishot nodded. The young king hadn’t known that his leader would act so
soon on the news they had found, so he was surprised by the declaration of war. “But we have no
assurance of our victory, Clarion. Our people will not like us putting them at risk in a hopeless
war,” said GlitterGirl. “Our people would rather live under the burden of the Empire of the Dawn
than die needlessly,” said Bastion. Gomurr considered Bastion for a moment. He was an unusual
man. His magic made him very resilient, allowed him to fly, and gave him the uncanny power of
turning others magic’s against them. Bastion was about forty years old and had ruled a long time
under the alliance. But now it was Gomurr’s turn to speak. “Clarion had me search the prophecies
for that very hope for our people. I found right away a well known prophecy assuring our victory.
The words go like this: Together kingdoms unite
to challenge a force of greater might.
Then the prophesized one will come
by whose sword they will be undone.
It will be the mighty warrior of ancient tales
                              living again under human veils.
When the warrior is absorbed in the magic breath
hope will shine through and they shall triumph.
It is the ancient prophecy of the Realms mightiest warrior,” concluded Gomurr. “The warrior is
named Fate in many of the prophecies.” “But aren’t those prophecies about things already done in
ancient times?” asked Ryoko. “Well it is commonly thought that they are, but through my many
years of studying them I have concluded that they are not about a future already passed, but they
refer to our future.” “But then could the latter prophecies about the warrior affect this one?”
asked Kiyone, demonstrating her scholars mind. “None of the other prophecies affect the results
of this one,” stated Gomurr. “But what is the magic breath?” spoke up Silver. “It could mean any
number of things. Anyone who has magic breathes, so it could be a form of metaphor. Maybe it
refers it refers to the currents of magic, or even some magical wind.” “As long as it says that we
win it doesn’t matter, right?” asked Siryn. “Exactly” By now Clarion looked slightly bored. He
wasn’t the kind of person who believed in things like prophecies. He only used them to inspire his
people to keep his will without complaint. “I think it’s about time we fought back,” stated
Deadpool. “We can’t sit here like wusses and not expect to be taken advantage of,” he added.
There was a murmur of agreement. “If we are all agreed, we can now commence preparations for
war. Discresion is vital.” Clarion proceeded to tell them what he wanted. The members of the
Empire listened to his words carefully. Avalon, Psishot, and Bastion smiled at the opening role the
would play. Havok’s icy blue eyes danced as he thought over the subtleties of the plan. If things
went right, there losses could be minimum. He looked thoughtfully at his claws, that stood out
against his black vest. He’d get plenty of action in all of this as well.....

Chapter1 Part 3

Gomurr took a deep breath as he entered the Great Library. He loved the musky smell of ancient volumes tinged with the aroma of magic. He gazed at the shelves and shelves of books that formed a circular pattern around the mystic pool that was in the center of the room. All wizards had to be brought to the mystic pool or any other mystic testing tem at some point in their lives. The mystic arts were the rarest and most valuable form of magic. If a peasant woman bore a mystic child she would never want for anything in her life! If the mystic was from a wealthy family untold wealth and power could await him or her. Gomurr's greatest achievement was being the keeper of this library. It housed hundreds of volumes on magic, and the most complete collection of prophecies in the world. The power and knowledge housed in the walls of the Great Library was immeasurable! Gomurr stepped up to the pool, looking over to the tables on the other side for his student and faithful assistant ~ShockWave~. The two small rectangular tables were littered with open books, volumes scattered haphazardly across the table surface. Gomurr frowned. This was most unusual. ShockWave always treated books with utmost care. Heck! She had even scolded him once for being too rough with them! He quickly walked across the tiled floors to the tables. He then saw ShockWave walking toward the tables, with her nose stuck in a book almost as large as her head. She bumped into him as she reached the table. She looked up, her frantic green eyes meeting his. "Gomurr!" she exclaimed. She looked surprised to see him. "What's going on? Weren't you listening to the meeting like I asked?" His eyes were on the books, scattered on the tabletops. ShockWave looked down and cringed. "I was listening like you said! I was stacking those books you left out yesterday..." "I don't recall leaving any books out" interrupted Gomurr. ShockWave rolled her eyes. "You wouldn't remember! You were too busy staring at a certain persons legs and then made up some excuse to go somewhere with her." Gomurr was speechless for a moment. Like all people hit by cupids arrow, he seemed to think that no one noticed his interest. "Anyway, I was stacking the books, and I found an old volume hidden in the back of the shelf. It fell to the floor, and I discovered that the back pages had a prophecy written on them!" "Really?" asked Gomurr interestedly. "Yes! And then you read a prophecy to the others, about a Warrior Fate. The Warrior Fate was mentioned in the new prophecy!" Gomurr was intrigued now. "Show it to me!" ShockWave began closing and stacking books as she talked. "Gomurr it said things about the Fate Warrior that meant that she would fail! I started frantically searching for other books by the same writer, checking to see if there was more!" After she had piled the now closed books in two neat stacks. She then took the book she had been carrying and placed it on the table. Gomurr sat down.

: I write this as a warning to those of the black. I know not who you are, but the vision I have had was directed to you. My vision was about the Fate Warrior prophesized. These are the words of my vision:

Wearing a sweaty mesh, feeling her own burning flesh With sightless eyes, in the prison of lies, a small hope slowly dies. Hair and eyes of a light brown, with a face not meant to frown. Her body is slight and small, as she huddles by the wall. Her nearly bare body shivers and her lower lip quivers. They come to the pit to beat her, for they will indeed defeat her. The rebellion had a great cost, and now all hope is lost... Black lives hang by a thread, for with the dawn all hope be dead. Such is what the Warrior Fate shall bring to her black and lonely king.

: This is my vision. Heed my words!! Ñ

: That strange symbol was all the signature there was. Gomurr flipped to earlier pages of the book. "This book contains agricultural references," he said. "I noticed, but what of the prophecy?" asked ShockWave. Gomurr turned so his wise eyes met her young and impatient ones. Her face was covered in dust from the old books, and her hair in a disarray caused be her frantic search. "The chances of this being a true prophecy, and not a false path, or maybe someone’s idea of a joke, or even and old wizards fantasy, is..." He contemplated for a moment. "It's more likely for you to love Darque Foenix than for this to be true," he said finally. ShockWave grimaced. "Don't mention that name," she sighed. She grabbed a stack of books. "Are you sure?" He nodded. "But what do we know about magic breath or whatever anyway Gomurr?" He patted her shoulder. "The magic breath has been mentioned in magic books before. You'll be helping me look for that. But don't think about this other prophecy anymore, after all Clarion is our Fate Warrior. He is neither a girl nor brown haired. Our fearless blonde leader shall prevail." She nodded. She turned to go restack books. "One more thing," said Gomurr. She turned. "Does anyone else know about... you know?" ShockWave smiled teasingly. "Well..." Gomurr gave her the look, his penetrating glare that asked for answers. "Party pooper!" she said teasingly. "No one else knows. Just me. Of course the way you react when she passes by well let others in on it fast if the library isn't the only place you see her!" Gomurr tugged his goatee. He hadn't even noticed ShockWave around. Was he that in love? Yet it was also like ShockWave was part of the library. She was the kind of person you didn't notice when she wanted to be hidden. "Just keep it between you, me, and the books ok?" "Don't worry old man! I won't tell a soul!" Gomurr frowned. He hated when she called him old man. It made him feel conscious of his age. He knew she was doing it to get back at him for mentioning Darque Foenix though, so he let it slip. Even though she wouldn't show it, Gomurr knew that his little student was terrified of Foenix. After seeing what happened to Blink, Gomurr knew that no one would blame her. Being his latest interest was like having death hanging over you...

: Meanwhile: Darque Foenix was in the dark. He relished the darkness. It was almost his natural habitat. Almost. His mind could dwell on many things in the inky blackness. He could think of his past lovers, those thoughts always made him smile. Screams always brought him pleasure... He could also think of future lovers. Green streaks in red hair, his own firebrand that only he would tame. He also liked to think of power, money. He wanted it all. He would never betray his emperor though. No, it was he who let him take all he wanted. In exchange he would be loyal. Darque Foenix also thought often of death. His enemies blood on his hands. The pride in Clarion's or Havok's eyes crushed. The destruction of the measly Hellfire Empire. They were impudent little worms. They called themselves black, but that color was his, no one else’s. The emperor said that in time they would crush them. The emperor was as sadistic as he was sometimes. He wanted to wait for them to make the first move. To give them hope, and then crush it. Oh yes, the emperor was wise. Darque Foenix felt a mind intrude in his darkness. He smiled. It was her, the witch. Nytshade had come. "My informant tells me that they begin their plot, Darque. The awaited time approaches," whispered her silken voice. She ran her fingers along his muscled shoulders. "Shall we celebrate our future success?" He smiled and kissed her fiercely. He liked this woman. Her thoughts were evil, like his and the emperors. She never screamed though. That's why he needed other women. She enjoyed it. He liked to hear the screams in their minds.....
