All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku |
A story of a boy and his cat... and a major military
equipment manufacturer. Ryunosuke and his father are fugitives from Ryu's
mother, an overprotective jerk who really wants her son back. Ryunosuke's
father, Kyusaku, had created an android, but found out that it was to be
used as a weapon, not what he wanted. He took off with the NK-1124 robot
and his son, to avoid having his work put to destruction. Ryunosuke, while,
uhm..RELIEVING himself in an alley, he picked up a cat and brought it back.
Later, being attacked by the mother's company, the cat was killed by a
stray shot.
One year later, the new addition to the family,
the "distant relative", was ready for her first day of school...
Now here's a kawaii anime if I've ever seen one. I'm sure you've heard
of it, and have just been putting off getting it. Well don't. Go get it.
This anime concentrates more on humor than anything else, and succeeds
very well.

AKIRA |
I finally saw this! And let me tell you, it was EXCELLENT! I recommend
it highly because of the superb animation, I have not seen better animation. The
storyline was very confusing, though. You need a good attention span for
this one.
Years ago, Tokyo was destroyed by an unknown type of nuclear bomb,
then World War III broke out. Thirty years later, a new city, Neo Tokyo,
is born. Kaneda and his motorcycle gang are out going for a cruise, killing
people of a rival gang. You know, the usual. Tetsuo, one of the members,
happens to almost run over a mysterious little boy with a wrinkled face
and blue skin. When the others are seeing if Tetsuo is alright, the boy
is taken away. Then military people come and take Tetsuo away, and arrest
Kaneda and his gang. It seems that the little blue old boy, along with
3 others, were part of an old military experiment, to create a super-human.
Tetsuo is to be the 4th experimental subject. Kaneda later meets up with
Kai (Pronounced, "Kay"), a woman involved with a big "rebellion", trying
to expose what the military is doing to people, turning them into experiments
of a long dead superhuman, Akira. But, why is Akira kept in a storage underground
and in a freezer? What are the secret plans of the old blue-skinned people?
Tetsuo is given the power of Akira by experiments, but, his power grows
rapidly, and Tetsuo, amazed by what he can now do, decides to take revenge
on people who hurt him, and also to find this mysterious, "Akira". Kaneda
and Kai are caught in the middle of a giant power-struggle. Can Tetsuo,
unlike the others before him, actually contain the great power of Akira?

Battle Angel |
On a personal note, I rated this anime "Death", but I would consider
it quite a light form of it.
<<Summarry directly from back of box>>
Gally... a cool and efficient bounty hunter. Armed with knife,
fists and a lethal metal body, she is the Battle Angel; a Hunter Warrior

body in the rubble beneath the floating city of Zalem, she has no memory
of her past, and an even more uncertain future. A pawn in a game
played with living pieces, Gally finds herself set into motion against
such foes as brutal spine theives, the brain-eating gladiator Greweicia,
the sinister Mr. Vector and the beautiful but ruthless Dr. Chiren.
The greatest threat of all, however, comes from Gally's own employers.
For when the mysterious factory orders the execution of her best friend,
Gally must make a terrible choice between her own code of honor and the
life of the man she loves.

Devil Hunter Yohko: Special Edition |
Well, I had heard alot about this anime, saying it was good and so forth.
Well, maybe it gets good after the first tape. Because I saw the first
tape, and was not impressed at all. I kept repeating to myself, "When is
this gonna be over?" and "Where's that cool theme song I heard?"
Yohko is the 108th generation of Devil Hunters. Her principal is a
devil that wants her dead. Fun fun, eh? A guy Yohko has been drooling over
for some time gets captured, to use in the ritual of bringing the Queen
of Darkness forth. Yohko's friend is possessed by a devil, and because
of that, he seduces her and tries to take her virginity. (If she's not
a virgin, she can't become a Devil Hunter) Not only that, but her Grandma's
a screwball. Lots of laughs, minor action, flashes of nudity, (LOTS of
flashes) and strange humor. I'm sure some people out there love this one!
The difference between the original and Special Edition, is that the Special
has more Yohko footage not released in the original.

Dragon Half |
Mink, half-dragon, half human, is out for the
love of pop-star Dick Saucer. Unfortunately, Dick is also a Dragon slayer!
So when the King orders Dick to kill Mink, there's only one thing she can
do! Search for the legendary People-Potion, which will change anyone into
a human. Plagued by dimwit Damaramu, Black Sorceress Vina, the King and
his over-acting advisor, Mink has a big adventure on her hands! Not a very
original story, (The typical boy-meets-girl in a fantasy genre) I recommend
this very highly because of the humor. Funniest anime I've seen!!

Dragon Ball Z The Movie: Dead Zone |
There's this funny elf-looking guy, Garlic Jr, who wants to conquer
the world, and release evil spirits an terrorize the world. He has these
3 fruity guys who follow him around, they're strong. They beat up the big
green elf guy, Piccolo. They also kidnap that monkey-kid, Gohan. Cause
they want all 7 Dragon Balls. So they could rule the world. Well, this
old green elf guy, who is the king of something, doesn't like it. So, uhm,
he gets pissed. And that guy with the nifty hair, Goku, is trying to get
the monkey-kid back. And, uhm. There's a biiiiig fight. Can you tell I've
never seen the DBZ series before? ::grins:: You're wrong! I saw it. Once.
The movie was okay, though. I liked the fight scenes, cause, well, there
weren't many other scenes. Anyways!!

Fire Emblem |
This is the story about Mars, a young prince of a group of knights who
are sworn to go and defend the region or Orlean against a ruthless enemy.
Fighting many battles along there way, including pirates, saving priestesses,
rescues, and so on. A typical war fantasy movie, with excellent swordfights.
While the blood of Anri the great still survives, the world may still be
saved!

Fushigi Yuugi |
"Lured by a fleeting glimpse of a Phoenix, Miaka Yuuki is led to a dusty room in a dark corner of the National Library. There, she and her best friend, Yui Hongo, discover a mysterious book that, as they begin to read, suddenly pulls Miaka into an ancient, mystical China where magic is real. Miaka learns that she is destined to become te legendary Suzaku no Miko - the guardian of the Konan Country. However, first she must overcome the hostile inhabitants of this strange new world and then she must face the cruel twists of fate which turn Yui Hongo into a feared enemy."
Fushigi Yuugi probably wins my award for the most addictive anime.
The characters are probably the most likable you're going to run in to.
There's nothing about Fushigi Yuugi that isn't top notch except for the
fact that the replay value isn't all that great. DEFINITELY check
this one out.

Neon Genesis Evangelion |
The year is 2015, as the remnants of the human race cower in subterranean
cities, a deadly war is being waged for what is left of the planet, and
humankind's fate. On one side are the mysterious beings known only as Angels;
on the other, the special agency NERV and mankind's last hope, the awe-inspiring
Evangelions. Piloted by a special team of young warriors, these giant bio-mechanical
humanoids are the only thing that can withstand the force of the Angels'
defense fields long enough for the pilots to to tackle the massive invaders
themselves in close hand to hand combat! With the lives of every living
thing on the planet and the pilot's souls at stake, these few youngsters
must reach deep inside themselves to find the strength and courage necessary
to meet the angels head on in a desperate attempt to save mankind. At the
same time, NERV struggles to pierce the veil of mystery surrounding the
enigmatic angels. Why was Earth attacked? And why were the only Evangelion-qualified
pilots born exactly nine months after half the human race was massacred
in Second Impact? Mankind's last battle has begun.
Here's a VERY serious anime, and the BEST I've seen! Very controversial,
it questions what it is like to be human. In the earlier stages of this
series, it is more of a Giant robot beat-em-up, but with a great sense
of mystery involved. When it progresses, it shows more aspects of the main
character's lives, and shows the painful toll of a strange way of life
through the characters. Undertaking aspects of insanity, murder, death,
life, neglect, and the greatest mystery of all is the series itself. It
has it's humorous moments, but creates a great deal of sense with it's
serious states. This is Anime at it's greatest artistic peak.

Evangelion: Death and Rebirth |
This is the first of 3 Evangelion movies. The first half, "Death" is
a re-cap of the entire series. The recap isn't good for people who have
never seen the tv series before, so, before you watch any of the Eva movies,
please watch the TV series, or you'll be completely lost. This re-cap isn't
entirely stupid, it adds new scenes, and new animation. It focuses on the
3 main characters, Shinji, Asuka, Rei, and it even focuses some attention
on Kaworou. It also re-caps all the mysteries revealed in the TV series,
as well as Evangelion Units 00, 01, 02 and 03.
"Rebirth" is entirely new. But it is the first 20
minutes of the second movie, "The End of Evangelion." At the end of Rebirth
it also plays that EXCELLENT song, Tamashii no Ruferan. (Soul Refrain)
It doesn't play this song in "The End of Evangelion."

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind |
This is a Miyazaki film. Need I say more? I do? Rats. I figured this
one would be easy to review. Anyways...
In a few short centuries, industrial civilization had spread from the
western fringes of Eurasia to sprawl across the face of the planet. Plundering
the soil of its riches, fouling the air, and remolding life forms at will. This
Gargantuan Industrial society had already peaked a thousand years after
its foundation : ahead lay abrupt and violent decline. The cities burned,
welling up as clouds of poison in the war remembered as the Seven
Days of Fire. The complex and sophisticated technological superstructure
was lost; almost all the surface of the Earth was transformed into a sterile
wasteland. Industrial civilization was never rebuilt as mankind lived on
through the long twilight years ...
The earth was covered by forest of enormous fungi
which exhaled a poisonous miasma called the Sea of Corruption. Scattered
throughout the tiny parcels of land remaining at the periphery of
the Sea of Corruption are the kingdoms people have created in which to
lived. Here lies the valley of Wind - a kingdom of barely five hundred
subjects; a small nation granted only frail protection against the poisons
of the Sea of Corruption by the ocean breezes ...
Nausicaä, the princess of The Valley of the
Wind, discovers through her own research, that the Sea of Corruption is
actually purifying the earth of the poisons left over from the Seven
Days
of Fire. When the Valley of the Wind is occupied by the Torumekians
in their efforts to revive the God Warrior, Nausicaä is taken hostage
where she finds herself drawn into a senseless war.
Her affinity with the giant insects of the poison swamp and
her insight in the important role that nature has in purifying the earth
are the only real weapon she has in adverting a catastrophic war.
Thus her adventure begins ...

The End of Evangelion | The End of Evangelion |
This is the second of the 3 movies. Also, do not watch this unless you
have seen the TV series, or you will be totally lost. I can't say much
anything about this movie, as I do not want to give away ANY of the plot,
because it is SO surprising! The first 20 minutes of this movie are from
the last 20 of Death and Rebirth. This is also the BEST anime I have ever
seen, and the animation rivals that of AKIRA. Basically, this movie is
the alternate ending to the last 2 tv episodes, and it was so good. I have
not seen a better anime. This was GOOD. And now I could ramble on
about how much I love the Eva series. But I won't, I'm sure you don't want
to hear it. Anyway, this movie concludes it all, wrapping it all up about
what happens to all of the characters.

Kiki's Delivery Service |
I thought to myself, "Oh, geez. Disney picked up and dubbed Anime. It's
going to be crap." I was expecting them to totally mutilate this Miyazaki
film. Well, I was pleasently surprised. This was actually one of the best
dubs I've seen.
The main character, Kiki, must learn to become a good witch. So she
leaves her parents and goes to live in a city, to do witch-like things.
The movie follows her adventures.

Kimera |
For centuries, there have been legends of "devils" walking the Earth,
feeding on the blood of humans.
But they weren't legends. Now, in the present, strange lifepods crash
landed on Earth. Taken up by scientists to help the vampiric beings go
about there ways on Earth, although their way of life is quite different.
They came to Earth for one reason, and one reason only. To breed. To save
mankind, Kimera must die.
This is a serious anime, telling about vampires. Explicit in some parts.
Has great animation, and an okay plot. There was only one thing that bugged
me. Kimera looked like a guy. Gross, hmm? Well, she IS one weird vampire.

Kodomo no Omocha |
I never thought I'd see the day when Dragon Half is topped. Not
only is this anime 10 times more hyper than Dragon Half, it's much,
much longer! If you like hyper-anime comedies, get this one. If you don't,
just try it out. It's crazy.
The story is about your "average" 6th grader. Sana, the main character,
works with a television studio, producing the hit series, "Child's Toy."
The show is completely ad-libbed. Sana's school classroom, though, is much
more bizzar than her workplace. The "Devil Child" (One of her classmates,
called devil child by Sana) is blackmailing the teachers, so him and his
"monkeys" (his friends, called Monkeys by Sana) can do whatever they want.
Sana wishes to put a stop to that, and goes to great lengths to do it.
And that's just the first few episodes.
Sana lives with her mother, who drives a little red car around the
house. She's a good writer, won an award equivalent to our Pulitzer. She
also buys tons of mail-order knick-knacks, so don't be surprised is you
see odd stuff around her. She has a different strange hat every day, and
there's always a live squirrel living in it.
Rei (Called "My Pimp" by Sana), Sana's manager, is also her bodyguard.
Drives Sana "safely" to school every morning.

Mobile Battleship Nadesico |
Now here's a good anime. It's like a cross between Tenchi and Evangelion.
A cross between Tenchi and Gundam. A cross between Tenchi... and.. basically
any other anime with large Mecha in it. Very funny. The Nadesico is a privately
owned battleship, and the most advanced one, at that. Akito, the main character,
Nadesico's cook and backup mech pilot, is the one all the girls are after.
But this guy is smarter than Tenchi. He gets one! But the one that is most
after him, Nadesico's captain, is one he sure doesn't want. In fact, he
tries to avoid her. And there's the coolest character, Gai, who is an Otaku!
That rules. Anyway, so the Nadesico is powerful, and they can beat these
powerful robot bug things, the Jovian Lizards, using the Nadesico's powerful
advanced weaponry, and the mecha, called Aestivalis, to kill them. The
Nadesico want to save the colony on Mars, but, since they don't want to
protect Earth from the bug threat, they are considered enemies by Earth.
Later in the series (Or as far as I've watched) They are joined by three
other mech pilots. Ryoko, the leader, brash, and harsh. Izumi, completely
insane. (Literally) and Amano, the hyper annoying one. The comedy as well
as the action in this series is great, they have just enough of each. Now
here's a good series.

Mononoke Hime |

MD Geist II: Death Force |
Ok, ok, ok. I know I probably rated this one unfair. But haven't we
all seen the old, big-powerful-misfit-hero versus all-powerful-big-army-leader-man?
Too much blood (Gallons upon gallons) just rubs me the wrong way. And the
ridiculous violence. Well, if you like no plot, blood, and violence, you
might like this one. Keep in mind that this is my own opinion. Well, it's
definitely not for the squeamish.

Magic Knight Rayearth |
A story of 3 girls, an evil priest, monsters, legendary "Mashin", an
evil desire, and an enslaved princess, who is the last hope of the world
of Cefiro.
The world of Cefiro was a peaceful place, never having bad weather,
or hardly any bad things at that. All this is because of a Princess who
prays day and night to keep the world peaceful. See, Cefiro is no ordinary
world. It is a world of willpower. If you wish hard enough, it will happen.
But when this princess is captured by her own powerful priest, Cefiro begins
to collapse.
The legend goes, that when Cefiro begins to collapse, 3 girls from
"the other world" will come to awaken the 3 "Mashin." These 3 girls happen
to be Umi, Hikaru, and Fuu. The trainor, Clef, was attacked and turned
to stone just minutes after the girls reach Cefiro. Now, the inexperienced
girls must follow Mokona, their guide, to awaken the "Mashin". Only
then can the girls become the legendary Magic Knights and save Cefiro from
utter destruction!
Oh, did I mention that this series was created by CLAMP?

Ninja Cadets! |
This is a neat story about 5 young Ninja's about to begin their final
test to become fully fledged ninja's. The fights are neat, and the comedy
is cool. Mixed in with magic and Mecha, it has many unexpected happenings.
My only gripe about this 2 episode OVA is that there is no complete closure.
It leaves an opening for a sequel.

And does Keiichi have the guts to put the moves on a babe who is LITERALLY
divine? Find out in "Moonlight and Cherry Blossoms," the first heavenly
episode of "Oh! My Goddess!"
<-->
Oh! My Goddess is a great anime! It is a romantic comedy, that
focuses on both the romance and comedy in equal proportions. Be prepared
though, the last two tapes are real tear jerkers! The only complaint
that I have is that it's too short. The entire series (5 tapes) is
only 2 hours and 36 minutes. For a 5 tape series, it should have
been much longer.

Pokèmon |
Pokemon, or "Pocket Monsters", was a huge hit in Japan. I mean, REALLY
huge. Based on the original Game Boy game, Pocket Monsters has acquired
a large Empire. And now, it has come to the US shores. Started with Nintendo's
Pikachu invasion in Topeka, Kansas, as a promotion, and then moves to US
TV. The Game Boy game in English is scheduled to be released Sept. 28.
And yes, this IS the anime that gave all those kids seizures in Japan.
Due to Pikachu's (the main character) flashing eyes 20 minutes into an
episode. This scene has been cut out of the American version, and also,
the animation speed has been slowed down. (Animation Smoothness: 5)
We join Ash Ketchum, a 10-year old boy on a quest to become the world's
greatest Pokèmon trainer. What are Pokèmon? They are the
kawaii little animals on the show. (The main character, Pikachu, is an
electric Pokèmon) Ash is soon joined by Misty and Brock, 2 gym trainers.
Constantly bugged by the egotistical, loud mouthed, says-so-much-yet-accomplishes-so-little
Team Rocket.
This anime, without a doubt was very Kawaii, and it's humorous ALOT,
I mean, just
take a look at Pikachu! It's WAY kawaii! Can't go wrong with a character
that looks like this. Even if you don't like the anime, the video game
is VERY addictive! I have heard rumors that Pocket Monsters is also going
to be ported to the N64.

Rayearth OVA's |
This is SUCH an excellently drawn anime. It surpasses OVA quality animation
and moves into the absolute high end of movie quality. And the mech battles
are so neat and detailed! (Basically, it's a very, VERY loosely defined
Shoujo. This it the magical girls part of the Shoujo topic, because, like
the TV series, all 3 girls can use magic) Beware of the blood (cool) and
the nudity. (Tasteful. And cool.)

Ruin Explorers |
This was a very funny anime. It's about this girl, Ihrie, and her highly
annoying, highly cheerful partner, Fam, who has a tail. So they both are
on a quest for "The Ultimate Power", a power that will grant them any wish
they want. Ihrie wants to remove her curse (A curse that, whenever she
uses magic, she turns into a mouse), get back at her former master for
giving her the curse, and, oh, just maybe conquer the world. Her flakey
partner wants to have someone teach her magic, get lots of friends, and
build a town with her friends where "they could live happily ever after."
But they're not the only ones after this power. A greedy merchant, a ditzy
master swordsmen, and a sorceress. Later though, they all join forces,
along with the prince of a ruined country, to fight against a black wizard
who destroyed his land. What they are really looking for though, are the
3 components to unleash the ultimate power. It's more of a comedy than
anything else.

Rorouni Kenshin |
This is a story about a wandering Samurai, Himera Kenshin. Kenshin is
the "Battousai", which means that he is an expert fighter and killing machine.
He doesn't like the title of that, for he has changed his ways and become
a Rorouni, which means, he doesn't kill, he only fights to protect people.
His sword is even dulled enough so it doesn't cut. It is a new Meiji era
in Japan, around the late 1800's. Kenshin, after settling murderer's rampage,
comes to live in a Dojo owned by Kaoru, a teacher of Buda (fighting style)
of Kasshin Ryu. This girl is someone you don't want to mess with. Later
joined by Yahiko the brat, who becomes an apprentice to Kasshin Ryu. Although
he does hate his teacher, and bugs her whenever he can. Kaoru, also dislikes
teaching him. Joined even later by Zanza, the former gangster, with strength
and edurance unsurpassed.
This is an excellent series, and has a little for everyone. Comedy,
skilled swordfights, and even a light romantic tension between some characters.

Sailormoon |
Well, I suppose I rated this one quite good, considering that DiC destroyed
90% of it with it's bad Dub. But subtitled, this anime is quite okay. And
considering that it's the most popular Anime that ran in Japan, It has
to be good. Although in America, we have only seen the first season, and
most of the second. I don't feel much like writing up a summary, go here
and pick a site, you'll find one. Anyway, I think that this particular
Anime has gotten a bad rep due to it's dub, but I've heard that the subtitled
movies are good.

Sailormoon SuperS: The Movie |
Duhn duh! I was right. Subtitled Sailormoon is WAY better, so THERE!
heh heh. Oh, anyways...
So there's there dream fairies, and they get corrupted, and begin stealing
all of Earth's children. So children are disappearing. The Sailor Scouts
are alerted when Chibi Usa becomes hypnotized and starts walking away in
the middle of the night. Along with all the other children of Tokyo. So
Usagi and all the rest follow her, and there's a big fight, and Chibi Usa
gets taken away anyway. The Scouts find an uncorrupted fairy, Perele, and
with his help, they try and save Chibi Usa. And so, That's what happens.
I didn't like the story too well, but the animation was really good! And
the flute music was pretty spiffy too. And hey, there's variation in the
Sailors' attacks! That's new in my book.

Shin Kidousenki Gundam Wing A.C. 195 |
Most Original Character: Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton
Theme Song: Excellent (Just Communication: by Two-Mix)
Cover art: Excellent
Recommendation: Highly Recommended
Genre: Action/Mecha
Releaser: Bandai
Length: 96 minutes each.
Dubbed: No, only available through fansubbers.
The story of Gundam Wing takes place in the year After Colony: 195.
A sinister organization called The Federation is out to rule just about
everyone, everywhere...even in the far reaches of space. In order to do
so, they have reached out and taken control over 5 main space colonies
sans mercy . The colonies; who left Earth in the first place seeking peace,
and to escape The Federation's rule, plotted back against them (The Fed.)
by launching Operation Meteor. Now, the responsibility of accomplishing
peace lies in 5 young male pilots' hands. They must fight in their special
mobile suits: called Gundams, against OZ and all of those who stand in
the way, to accomplish order, justice, and peace. Seem like a typical bishounen
(pretty boy) and his giant robot story to you? EEEHHH! Wrong answer! Gundam
Wing is far from a typical anime. Alongside well-done animation and interesting
characters, Gundam Wing also boasts an great plot that just draws you in
to the point where you can't get enough! I should know, I bought the entire
series! So, if you're looking for an anime that has an interesting plot
with wonderful character designs, this it it! I don't recommend it if you're
looking for something bloody, mindless, or wacky. Although Gundam Wing
tends to put a blood trickle out of the mouth, and has its comic relief
here and there, you'll find yourself wondering more about if Heero accomplished
his mission or not, rather than when Duo and Quatre are going to go into
SD mode.

that sorcerer is none other than Nahga. Nahga, according to herself, is
"Lina's great rival." According to Lina, she's just "a pain in the
butt." One fireball puts Nahga out of commission. Lina makes Nahga realize
that the bandits who hired her are bad, so they both kick the crap out
of them again. Picking through the bandits' belongings, Nahga finds 2 discount
tickets to the infamous hot spring resort on Mipross. Quickly, grabbing
Lina, she makes a run for the boat to get there. Lina begins to get strange
recurring dreams of when the island was new, about a strange boy and an
elf. She later finds out that the elf the boy likes was killed in a great
massacre of elves by a demon, named Joyrock. It becomes a wacky journey
into the past to correct history. What is Lina's reward? The location of
the "Pool of growth." Lina's goal? To get to that pool so she can grow
taller, and get her breasts bigger. (Trust me, there are very many hilarious
breast jokes in this one) All through this journey, Nahga is "tagging along".

The Slayers: TV series |
Well, basically the same as the movie and OAVs (Short jokes, small-breasted
jokes)
But minus Nahga and plus a few new characters.
The all-power eating machine Lina, her dimwitted but very skilled master
swordsman Gourry, the overzealous, overperforming Amelia, and the stone-cold,
quiet, Zalgadus. Plagued by just about everything, this is a nice
series. It makes you crack up and say something like, "It's about time
somebody thought of that!"

Tenchi Muyo! OAV |
Tenchi, the luckiest guy on Earth. Or is he? Surrounded by 5 women who
all want him for themselves, Tenchi sure has a handful! If he chooses one,
there's sure going to be a fight! This hilarious action-comedy is another
one of the best Anime I've seen. After Tenchi releases the Space Pirate
Ryoko from her cave prison, all hell breaks loose! Ryoko is detected by
Princess Ayeka's spaceship, (Princess of the Jurai royal family) Who, unknowingly
has Sasami tagging along on board, then, in a fight between Ryoko and Ayeka,
Ryoko creates an energy pocket summoning a demon, which pulls the spaceship
of Galaxy Police Mihoshi down through a black hole. Mihoshi was pursuing
a criminal Kagato, who steals Ryoko back, and on board his spaceship, Mihoshi
accidentally releases Ryoko's Mom, Little Washu. After all is said and
done, there are 5 alien women at Tenchi's home, and all want his love!
This is a very popular series, and a great one at that. Very, VERY funny.

Tenchi Universe |
This is another branch off in the Tenchi World. All is the same, except
Washu isn't after Tenchi. The characters are also introduced differently.
I like the OAV series better because it goes slower (Which is a good thing,
this series whizzes by, too fast for me) and it has a better plot. But,
all Tenchi is good Tenchi.

Tenchi Muyo! The Movie: Tenchi In Love |
Yet ANOTHER branch from Tenchi. This time, it's a movie! When powerful
space villain Kain breaks free, he is in search to destroy the power that
imprisoned him the first time. Jurai! But instead of going directly to
the Jurian Empire, he goes back into the past, to destroy all Jurian power
in the solar system. His first target, Tenchi Misaki's Mom! If he succeeds,
Tenchi, and all his alien women will cease to exist, as well as most human
life on Earth! Protected by a time shield created by Washu, Tenchi must
go back to the past to make sure his Mother is not destroyed by Kain. Joined
by the cast except Washu, they all go back. Ayeka and Ryoko enroll in Achika's(Tenchi's
mother) school, Kiyone takes a janitor job, Mihoshi becomes a teacher,
while Tenchi and Sasami sit in the bushes watching Atchika's every move.
Will they succeed in destroying Kain and protecting Atchika? Or will everything
be destroyed?

Tenchi The Movie 2: The Daughter of Darkness |
Tenchi 2. I love this movie! An excellent branch in the Tenchi series.
Don't let the length fool you, this is a great movie. (And a must see for
Ryoko fans) One day while coming back from the cemetery, Tenchi is confronted
by a mysterious (and strange) woman. She calls him "Daddy", and we all
can suspect how Ayeka and Ryoko feel about this. Who is the mother? Tenchi,
the father is also quite struck himself. Mayuka, his daughter, seems unaffected
by everyone and goes about being as weird as ever. Get this movie!

Vampire Hunter D |
It is a time in the distant future. A time of mutants, werewolves and
vampires. A time when life gets a little more simplistic. This is a story
of a young mutant hunter. When out hunting, she confronts a werewolf, who
kills her horse, and while running away, breaks off the cross around her
neck. As you know, a cross will protect you from Vampires. She confronts
the Count of Lee, who easily over takes her. Now once bitten, she will
become his bride, in a few days. She searches for a Vampire hunter to kill
the Count, and what she finds is D, a mysterious man who hardly speaks.
But D is no ordinary hunter. Not only in his veins flows that of human
blood, but the bloodline of a vampire as well. I may have rated this a
"death" anime, but the blood in this isn't like death. It's very realistic.
This is an old anime, and it is still a good one.

Vision of Escaflowne |
Wow! Good one. The animation was EXCELLENT! I only rated it an "8" because
all the noses on the people are way too big, even the noses on the girls.
But anyway, it starts off with this girl, Hitomi, who suddenly has visions
of another world, and then uhm, she gets taken to that world. And stuff
happens. There's an evil person, and this person wants to wreck stuff.
This is a fantasy type anime, with giant mech. "Escaflowne" is actually
an advanced mecha. What they do is go around places, trying to protect
Hitomi, who still is seeing visions of a dark future.

Windaria |
(summary directly from the back of the box)
In the country of Windaria, the war between Lunaria and the Shadowlands
escalates, catching in its path two pairs of passionate lovers... the young
farmers, Alan and Marie, and a beautiful princess and a handsome prince
for whom romance is forbidden. Their stories intertwined in an explosive
epic of jealousy and greed, steeped with spies, secret missions, goulish
apparitions, bewitching seductresses, and fierce gunbattles on land and
in the air. The uncontrollable emotions of romance collide head-on with
the inevitable brutality of war in one of the most fully realized fantasy
worlds ever created... Windaria.
<-->
Don't get me wrong, but this movie is not a mushy romance flick. It
focuses more on the cruelty of war, and the struggles of two nations. This
is actually the most realistic fantasy anime I've ever seen, but then again,
I have not seen Record of the Lodoss War yet. Anyway, this is a very good
movie, with powerful animation rarely seen. Yes, it has blood, for all
you blood fans. The battles in this movie are also very organized don't-shoot-the-leader
European type fighting. Has many surprises. Some good some bad. This is
the story re-told by a dying man, who wishes the truth to finally be revealed.

A good series, with good animation. first tape is 45 minutes, the rest
85. For the most part, it's a "quest-like" anime.
