We`re part of AIDS Walk Canada, the national fundraising campaign in support of local AIDS organizations across the country. Pledges collected by wallkers are used to fight AIDS on three levels:
SERVICES: providing comprehensive support services to people living with HIV/AIDS and their care partners, families and friends
EDUCATION: creating innovative AIDS prevention education programes, materials and other community outreach efforts to stop the spread of HIV
POLICY AND ADVOCACY: helping build effective and equitable public health
policies that respect the rights and dignity of people living with HIV/AIDS, and
advocating for the stable public sector funding for HIV/AIDS education, support
and research at local, provincial and federal levels
...and all pledges collected in our area stay in our area.

AIDS IS A FACT OF LIFE ALL ACROSS CANADA...and it isn't going away.
A recent study estimates 42,500 to 45,000 Canadians have already been infected with HIV,
with an additional 2,500 to 3,000 people - half of them 23 years of age or younger -
infected this year. New treatments offer hope, but there is still no cure.
Education is our only vaccine.
Thousands of Canadians will be participating in over 60 AIDS Walk
Canada sites from St. John's to Victoria, helping raise urgently neede funds for
AIDS prevention, education and support services in their community.
They will also be making a strong public statement that AIDS is an important health
and social issue for all Canadians.
A lot has already been accomplished. But we can't stop now.

Appuyez notre communauté dans la lutte contre le SIDA
Le Marchethon est une campagne de levée de fonds à l'échelle nationale pour les
organismes de SIDA locaux. Les dons recueillis par les marcheurs/marcheuses
contribuent à lutter contre le SIDA sur trois fronts:
Services de soutien
Programmes d'éducation préventive sur le SIDA
Politiques, défense et promotion des droits
Tous les dons recueillis dans notre région restent dans notre région.
Venez marcher pour recueillir des fonds
1. Inscrivez-vous dès aujourd'hui!Faites-nous parvenir le formulaire ci-joint et nous vous donnerons plus de renseignements sur le marchethon.
2. Trouvez des commanditaires. Demandez à vos collègues de travail, vos ami.e.s, votre famille et vos voisin.e.s de vous commanditer. Le but est de recueillir le plus de dons possible.
3. Marchez le dimanche 28 septembre. Venez marcher avec des gens comme vous et moi et montrez que nous sommes tous solidaires des personnes séropositives ou atteintes du SIDA.
Faites partie de la solution en marchant pour le bien-être de notre région.
Le SIDA est une réalité partout au pays...une réalité qui n'est pas près de changer. Une étude récente estime que de 42 500 à 45 000 Canadien.ne.s sont déjà
