"Just us…" Nova’s voice echoed throughout the chamber.
Zephyr turned to stare at her. "You…" she said, her voice
dangerously low.
"Sailor Zephyr?" Nova backed away. "Are you all right?"
Zephyr’s eyes flashed. "No," Zephyr said. "I’m not.
I just watched my friends die." She advanced towards Nova.
"You took us here on purpose, didn’t you? You took us here, through
all those traps, trying to kill us, didn’t you? Didn’t you!"
Zephyr was becoming hysterical. "You were the one who killed them.
You did!" Zephyr charged at Nova and tackled her. She wrapped
her hands around Nova’s neck. "This is for my friends, you evil murderer."
Zephyr tightened her grip and strangled Nova until her neck broke and she
died.
Zephyr stood up suddenly. "Why did I just do that?" she
asked herself. "I just killed Nova. I know she didn’t lead
us here on purpose, that she didn’t want to kill us. So why?"
Then it hit her. "The Death Ladies. They possessed me, and
it was their influence that made me kill Nova."
"Very good," a voice said. "You caught on." Zephyr
looked up, and saw someone materialize in the air before her. Three
people…they were the Death Ladies.
"I won’t forgive you for this…ever!" Zephyr cried. She
ran towards them, but they disappeared, then reappeared behind her.
Zephyr turned around, only to be hit in the face with an energy blast from
one of the Ladies. She went flying back against the wall.
"You know you don’t stand a chance against us," one of the ladies
said. "So why try? Why not just let yourself be killed?"
"Because," Zephyr said, "I must avenge their deaths." But
she realized she couldn’t do it alone. She sent out a telepathic
cry for help. <If anyone out there can hear me…> she said in her
mind. <If you can hear me, come to Darkdeath now, I need help!>
Then she remembered what Cypress had said. "In the Age of Sapphire
you had a sister named Sailor Nebula…"
<Sailor Nebula,> Zephyr called out. <It’s me, Zephyr.
If you can hear me, I’m in trouble and I need your help!>
Meanwhile, a girl was walking along a street in Paris, France.
Her name was Marie Phillipe, and she was on her way home from school with
her bird, Pandora, flying overhead.
As she was walking, she was suddenly doubled over in pain.
She collapsed to the ground. Pandora flew down and landed beside
her.
"Marie? What’s wrong?" Pandora asked. Pandora could
talk; Marie had known this ever since she had had her. Marie was
really Sailor Nebula, one of the sailor soldiers from Astro, as well as
Sailor Zephyr’s sister from the Age of Sapphire.
"Can’t…breathe…" Marie gasped. Then, she heard a voice
in her mind. Pandora heard it too.
<Sailor Nebula, it’s me, Zephyr. If you can hear me, I’m in
trouble and I need your help!> the voice said.
"Zephyr!" Marie cried. "My sister, right?" she asked Pandora.
Pandora nodded. "You need to transform," she told Marie.
"Then I’ll tell you what to do."
"Right," Marie agreed. She took out her transformation pen and
held it up. "Nebula Astral Star Power!"
"Just give up, little girl!" Diabla sent another energy blast
at Sailor Zephyr. The blast knocked Zephyr back against the wall
again.
"Nebula…help me…" Zephyr whispered.
"I’m right here, Zeph," a voice said. Zephyr looked up.
Standing before her was a girl in a sailor suit. The girl looked
a little older than Zephyr, but the two looked like they were related.
This new sailor wore a suit similar to Zephyr’s, but wherever Zephyr’s
suit was blue hers was green, and vice versa. Her hair was long and
light blue, with half of it pulled back in a green bow and the rest of
it loose.
"Nebula?" Zephyr asked. "Nebula…sister…is it you?"
"It’s me!" Nebula smiled. "I’ve finally found you, Zephyr."
"Hate to interrupt this little family reunion," Espirita said,
"but excuse me, we’ve got a fight to finish?"
"Oh, right," Zephyr said. "Do you have the Sapphire Star,
Nebula?" she asked her sister.
"Yes," Nebula said, holding up a staff. "Do you have yours?"
"I do," Zephyr said, taking out her half of the Sapphire Star.
They held their halves together, and a blue light emitted from it.
The Death Ladies tried to counterattack with their dark energy, but they
couldn’t. The energy that was coming from the Sapphire Star was too
great. It reached the Death Ladies, and there was a sudden explosion.
When the smoke from the explosion cleared, the Death Ladies were gone.
Zephyr and Nebula had killed them with the blast from the Star.
"We did it," Nebula said. "We did it!"
"But what about the others?" Zephyr asked.
"There are other Astros?" Nebula asked. "You’ve found the
other Astros?"
Zephyr nodded. "But on the way here, they all died.
Could we bring them back to life using the Star?"
"It’s worth a try," Nebula replied. They brought the Sapphire
Star halves together again, and there was a bright flashing light.
The light flashed nine times, each time it brought back a sailor.
Spica, Io, Orion, Andromeda, Vega, Inferno, Nova, and finally Arcturus.
"Hey, what happened?" Arcturus asked. "Where are we?
The last thing I remember was when the ladies captured me. And who’s
that?" she inquired, pointing to Nebula.
Zephyr sighed. "We’ve got some serious catching up to do…"
