Not So Suddenly Dead!!!
.
The call went out, a
unit sent, routinely to the scene,
At Two Two Seven Main
Street, on the morning June Nineteen.
Three Six Five Al Patrick,
and Three Twenty Parlevliet,
Met up with the reportee,
who was standing on the street.
.
My good friend George
I fear, is very truly dead,
I found his cold stiff
body, underneath his bed.
So Pete and Al went
up the stairs, down the darkened hall,
Into the tiny room there,
where George had made his fall.
.
Al checked and found
the body, was very stiff and cold,
But even that was not
enough, he was not completely sold.
So Al got down, and
shone his light, cutting through the gloom,
Scaring all the roaches
out, that lived in George's room.
.
There he found George
breathing, and called for further help,
Instead, he got a fireman,
and Pete let out a yelp.
In strolled the hapless
cylon, and looked at George's head,
We're much too late
to help him, this man is really dead!
.
He, is in rigor mortis,
and his skin is cold as stone,
So off we go, back to
the hall, and leave you three alone.
Then Al stood up, and
pointed to, George's rising chest,
This man here is still
alive, I passed my first aid test.
.
In strolled some help,
in the person of, a paramedic pair,
Who quickly went to
work on George, giving him some air.
The fireman looked o'er
the scene, with disbelieving eyes,
As George, the living
dead man, began to stabilize.
.
The moral to this story,
is one you should recall,
If needing aid for injury,
and you're near a fire hall,
Keep right on going,
'till you can find, the nearest telephone,
Then call the Paramedics,
and leave those firemen alone.
