Corporal Crayola
.
Twelve years ago it
all began, Rennie Hoffman started out,
Working down in skid
road, there wasn't any doubt.
That he would soon be
walking, on tired aching feet,
While keeping law and
order, in the confines of his beat.
.
He would soon gain fame,
around the streets, along with TommyCork,
They became a two man
wrecking crew, always hard at work.
Seizing drugs and dealing
with, the ever present drunk,
Stopping thefts and
robberies, and people dealing junk.
.
And then one day it
ended, the two were split apart,
Hoffman sent to Oakridge,
to get a brand new start.
So with a brand new
partner, and working in south west,
He then began to study
hard, he hoped to pass the test.
.
Then finally he made
it, to the corporals list,
Soon he will be leaving
us, and really will be missed.
When he finally gets
those hooks, his pen they'll take away,
To be replaced by these
eight crayons, to help him through theday.
.
He can use them to keep
busy, in the PIC or in the jail,
Or use them to mark
up reports, and sending out the mail.
Since he will be off
the street, he'll need a new nickname,
So Corporal Crayola,
'cause he'll never be the same.
.
So good luck to Rennie
Hoffman, wherever you may go,
If you hear the word
Crayola, we hope that you will know.
You were once a member
of eight one, remember one and all,
The people you have
worked with, we'll be there if you shouldcall.
