Barry MacDonald's Last
Stand
.
Central records used
to be, open to us all,
To find reports and
check cards, there never was a stall.
But these things change,
and change it has, for me and everyone,
The new procedure, we
must use, is really lots of fun.
.
Signing into log books,
or calling on the phone,
Is the only way to get
reports, even all your own.
But Barry Mac, he found
a way, to do it by himself,
Locked outside, and
looking at, reports out on the shelf.
.
No locked door or office
clerk, could keep him from his task,
Please open up and let
me in, he then was heard to ask.
I need to find some
check cards, somewhere in the drawer,
So please come walking
over, and open up this door.
.
But Barry had not heard
that, procedures had been changed,
He really thought that
maybe, a joke had been arranged.
So believing this, Barry
thought, I have it well in hand,
The time had come for
everyone, MacDonald's final stand.
.
He leaped upon the counter,
standing six foot two,
An impressive sight,
especially, in uniform of blue.
The clerk she was a
small girl, no more than five foot three,
She tried to stop our
Barry, a funny sight to see.
.
Down he jumped, and
over to, the filing drawer he strolled,
He searched the drawer,
victorious, he was feeling rather bold.
But his feat was not
unnoticed, a Staff Sergeant called him back,
If one can get in trouble,
then MacDonald has the knack.
.
So Barry has surrendered,
and repented for his sin,
Of leaping o'er the
counter, and boldly walking in.
Now he signs the log
book, and sits outside until,
The staff can come to
serve him, he has memorized the drill.
