The Birds
.
A bird in the hand,
is worth two in the bush,
Maybe that's why, he
was in such a rush.
To save a lone Seagull,
trapped by a fire,
Richard Lauzon, climbed
higher and higher.
.
He got to the place,
where the Seahawk was trapped,
While the crowd down
below, stood and all clapped.
For, this nice policeman,
risked life and limb,
To save a poor birdie,
from a fate that was grim.
.
He found a handhold,
and picked up the gull,
Then started back down,
with a squawking handful.
Finally, his feet, were
back on the land,
With the Albino Crow,
clutched firmly in hand.
.
For this heroic act,
he deserved a reward,
At least a thank you,
from that mangy old bird.
But such an event, was
not to take place,
The Sea Scavenger showed,
a lack of good grace.
.
It seems that the Seahawk,
began to see red,
Then bit Richard's hand,
and held 'till it bled.
Richard then dropped,
the bird, with a curse,
Which prompted the writing,
of this little verse.
.
His hand will soon heal,
the event's in the past,
So he gets a new nickname,
one that will last.
So here is the name,
for Rich to try it on,
Ladies and Gentlemen!
"Seagull" Rick Lauzon.
