Locks and Keys
.
As trusted members of
the force, we are all considered,
To have honesty, integrity,
but now I am bewildered.
Information section,
is under lock and key,
The purpose of the closure?
To keep out you and me.
.
We are trusted with
our weapons, to be gentle as a kitten,
But, still we can't
have access, to reports that we have written.
Civilian staff and janitors,
have access to each floor,
Some even carry master
keys, that open every door.
.
Opening the viaduct,
is an adventure you should see,
The procedure we must
go through, just to get the key.
First a red box must
be opened, with a key to fit its lock,
Just to get another
key, another stumbling block.
.
With that key we can
open up, a lock upon a door,
To get access to another
box, mounted high above the floor.
In that box, you guessed
it, more keys and numbered tags,
A key must now be chosen,
while enthusiasm sags.
.
This key is now the
one we want, but not to do the task,
It only opens up a box.
Another one you ask?
When that box is opened,
do you wonder what one sees?
Another one that's full
of, many tags and keys.
.
Still we are not finished,
for now there is a book,
Which must be signed
by two of us, to show which key you took.
Now you have the key,
key, and leave laughing at the sight,
Of all the locks and
keys you used, on this fateful night.
.
Now granted high security,
is required here sometime,
But locking out the
very ones, sworn to battle crime?
Who of all our people,
could be trusted if you please?
Why a Corporal and Constable,
are the keepers of the keys.
