The Clayton Savings
Plan
.
The story starts
one summer's eve, with a PC's stolen hat,
Now Dave must
pay eleven bucks, the board decided that.
Reimbursement
for the hat badge, is what they so have ruled,
The ten thousand
dollar flashlight, sure had everybody fooled.
.
But Dave Clayton
went one better, just a day or two ago,
When he drove
down to a B and E, saw the suspect laying low.
He bailed out
with a challenge, to the suspect on the ground,
Who stood up
rather quickly, and ran off with a bound.
.
He ran for
blocks in circles, with Dave hot on his heels,
While cover
cars were closing in, someone stole his wheels.
He had bailed
out in a hurry, and left the keys inside,
Now a fine
upstanding citizen, was going for a ride.
.
Poor Dave was
just beside himself, how much will this cost?
A car is more
expensive than, the old hat badge he lost.
Then the welcome
news arrived, his car was down the lane,
So Dave meandered
over to, retrieve his car again.
.
But the happiness
soon faded, when Dave got down to the spot,
His blue and
white was buried in, a tuxedo rental shop.
The total damage
reached ten grand, the driver was not hurt,
So stoned was
he, when interviewed, he barely seemed alert.
.
When asked
why steal a cop car, the suspect flashed a grin,
Explaining
what had caught his eye, and drawn him right in.
It was all
the pretty coloured lights, mounted up above,
With all the
coloured patterns, the guy just fell in love.
.
So Dave next
time you chase someone, remember lock your door,
Oh and please
turn off the overheads, so no one else can score.
About the loss
and damage board, why worry, what the heck,
Offer twenty
bucks a week, in deductions from your cheque.
